Registration is open for Boys Spring Lacrosse ($10 late fee after 2/11/2017)

 

AGES: Novice and experienced players grades Pre-school through 8th.

 

Important lacrosse season dates:

Mid-January, 2017:  Early registration opens.

Saturday February 11, 2017: Early registration ends and a $10 late fee will be added.

Saturday February 25, 2017:  Boys rental equipment handout and in-person player fee payment collection day.

Wednesday March 8, 2017:  Boys Grades 1st – 8th Evaluation Clinic at Crown.

Weekend of March 11 - 12, 2017:  Teams announced on website.
Monday March 20, 2017:  Boys first team practice (Grades 1-8).
Tuesday March 21, 2017:  Girls first team practice (Grades 1-8).

March 24-25, 2017:  Scrimmages (Detailed schedule TBD).

April 1, 2017:  First games (Full season schedule TBD).

April 15, 2107:  Easter Weekend, no games.
Tuesday April 18, 2017:  First practice for the Girls and Boys Starters Division (PreK-K Grades).
May 19 - 20, 2017: Last games. (Rental equipment and uniform return after last game).

 

Boys In-house Youth Lacrosse Divisions:

STARTERS 6U Division (Pre-school to K): This is a fun, instructional, non-competitive, skill oriented division with no weekend commitment.  The Starters division is designed to introduce very young children to the game. 
They will practice in a clinic format and we introduce the basic skills of catching, throwing, shooting, cradling and scooping.  The boys do not wear any protective equipment in this division and therefore we use soft/tennis balls instead of real lacrosse balls.  We also use smaller 4'x4' goals. This division does not start until mid-April, when the weather gets warmer, and ends prior to Memorial Day weekend. Currently our plan is to have the Starters division clinic practices on Tuesday and Thursday 6pm -7pm.

 

The boys player fee for the Starters Division is $50.  No equipment is needed in the Starters division.

 

The following divisions have separate teams and play games.  The season begins in Mid-March and finishes in Late-May before Memorial Day weekend. The season starts with an instructional clinic where players are evaluated by the coaching staff for each division. The player evaluations are then used to assign players to in-house recreation teams with goal of creating balanced teams and therefore fun and competitive games. Our in-house recreational teams will consist of a mix of players of all experience and skill level.  Teams will be announced on our website in early March prior to the first week of practice.

 

Boys Youth Divisions (Divisional structure may be modified based on number of registered players)
8U Division  (Grades 1st - 2nd - Small sided games on modified size fields)
10U Division (Grades 3rd - 4th) 
12U Division (Grades 5th - 6th)

14U Division (Grades 7th - 8th)

 

The boys base player fee for the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U Divisions is $100 per player if you have your own equipment. If you need to rent any protective equipment for the spring season then add $60 to the player fee for a total of $160.

 

*We do not accept registration of 9th graders for our youth lacrosse program. We also reserve the right to adjust the divisions based on participation.

All games and practices for the Falcon recreational in-house league are held at our complex.  No travel is required to participate.  

Game and Practice Schedule: Boys teams typically practice twice a week in the evenings (Monday and Wednesday or Monday and Thursday) with in-house games Saturdays starting in the mid-afternoon. Some games may be played during the week on occasion. Practices will consist of a mix of clinic station and team specific drills.  At times the boys will be separated from their teams and grouped by skill level for clinic stations.  We are are a developmental league therefore the coaches from each team in each division will be working together to structure practices in order to enhance development and the overall experience for players at different skill levels.


Protective equipment: We rent helmets (all white), shoulder pads, arm pads and gloves for those who do not have their own. If you have your own helmet it must be all white and we will provide you with a Falcon decal. All equipment is for sale at discounted club pricing. 

Game apparel: New custom uniforms this year.  All players will be issued a game reversible and shorts that will be turned back in at season's end. Any damaged or missing game reversible or shorts will be billed at $30 each. We are no longer giving away the practice/game shorts or handing out practice reversibles.

Stick: Player is responsible for their own stick.

The purpose of the Program is to provide the Players with an understanding of the fundamental skills required to play the game of lacrosse. The Program shall promote an atmosphere of learning, enjoyment and good sportsmanship. The safety of the Falcon Lacrosse Players and Opposing Players shall always be held in the utmost regard. Opposing coaches, players, parents, spectators and especially officials shall be treated with respect and dignity at all times. All Coaches, Player and Parents associated with the Program shall conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the Program.
