What does it cost?
For youth playing for Lake Lacrosse Club, the fees can be found by clicking here. For High School Varsity and JV teams, Lake Local Schools charges a one-time per year athletic fee.   top of list

How big is the field?
Two teams of ten players are on the field at one time. Teams usually line up with one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers.

On face-offs, players must remain in their respective playing zones until one team gains possession of the ball. Also, teams must have at least four players in their defending half and three players in their attacking half of the field at all times of the game. top of list

How long does a game last?
A game is divided into four quarters. Depending on the grade level, each quarter ranges from ten to fifteen minutes with a ten-minute break at halftime. Each period begins with a “face-off” at midfield. Teams switch playing sides after each period and are allowed two time-outs per half. If a game ends in a tie, teams may play overtime periods of sudden death; the team to score first wins. top of list

Is Lacrosse dangerous?
Every sport has a certain degree of risk and although every effort is made to prevent injuries, they sometimes occur. Lacrosse is no more dangerous than other High School sports such as football, soccer, baseball, basketball, wrestling, etc.

To ensure comprehensive insurance coverage, each player is enrolled as members of US Lacrosse which offers insurance coverage. Membership is required to participate in many regional tournaments as well as participate on a regional “premier” team. Benefits also include access to a variety of programs and services, discounts on books, videos, educational materials and National Team merchandise; Lacrosse Magazine, comprehensive lacrosse insurance, membership in their local chapter, and free admission to the Lacrosse Museum and Hall of Fame. You can learn more by visiting their website US LACROSSE top of list

Players are well protected through the use of a helmet & mask, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves and of course a cup! Some players also choose to wear back & kidney guards. top of list
