How do I register my child for soccer?
We will have registration details posted on our website, Facebook page, and around town when open. Registration forms are available at Wayne County Bank, The Bank of Waynesboro, The Bank of Collinwood, and Peoples Bank when registration is open. We usually have them available at all Wayne County Elementary and Middle School registrations.
What is the cost?
Regular registration fees are as follows but are subject to change:
1 Child- $35.00
2 Children- $65.00
3 Children- $95.00
We sometimes offer discounts for early registration so be sure to check our website or Facebook page regularly.
What ages are allowed to play in the league?
The player's age as of December 31st of the season year must be 3-18.
What is the soccer season?
As of now we only have a fall season available (please let us know if you would be interested in a spring league as well). The first game is usually at the beginning of September and we play 8 weeks.
When are games played?
All games will be played on Saturday mornings.
Will my child be traveling?
Our youngest age group (U-5) is the only age group that is guaranteed not to travel.
Where to?
Until we set the official schedule for the season, it it not guaranteed where we will be traveling. In the past, our teams have played in Centerville, Hohenwald, Lawrenceburg, and Pulaski. We traveled there for one game and they traveled to our field for one game.
How many practices are there per week?
Usually teams only practice once or sometimes twice a week. This is up to the coaches.
What equipment do I need?
Shinguards and cleated soccer shoes are required for all practices and games. Black shorts are also required for games.
How long does practice last?
This is left up to the coaches. Most practices last about an hour. Older kids may practice for a hour and a half.
What does my child need to bring to practice?
A ball is not required but we encourage you to bring one, soccer cleats, shin guards, and plenty of water.
Does my child need soccer cleats or will tennis shoes, football cleats, baseball or softball cleats be okay?
We do require that your child have soccer cleats. (Tennis shoes, football, baseball, or softball cleats are not acceptable)
What size ball does my child need to use?
U-5 plays with a size 3 ball
U-7 plays with a size 3 ball
U-9 plays with a size 4 ball
U-12 plays with a size 4 ball
U-15 and U-18 play with a size 5 ball
Can my child wear a cast (or earrings, religious medals, eyeglasses)?
The FIFA Laws of the Game prohibit anything that is dangerous to a player or other players. Referees determine if an item can be worn without being dangerous.
How many players are on the field at a time?
U-5 play 3v3 (no goal keeper)
U-7 play 4v4 (no goal keeper)
U-9 play 7v7 (including goal keeper)
U-12 play 9v9 (including goal keeper)
U-15 and U-18 play 11v11 (including goal keeper)
How long does a game last?
U-5 plays 4 x 8 minute quarters
U-7 plays 4 x 12 minute quarters
U-9 plays 2 x 25 minute halves
U-12 plays 2 x 30 minute halves
U-15 plays 2 x 40 minute halves
U-18 plays 2 x 45 minute halves
What field will my child play on?
U-5 plays on our smallest top field
U-7 plays on our smallest top field
U-9 plays on our middle field by the bathrooms
U-12 plays on our big top field
U-15 and U-18 play on the big bottom field
