Get ready to take your game to new heights with CV Boys Travel Basketball for 4th, 5th and 6th graders!

Our mission is to nurture young athletes with a passion for basketball, helping them develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and competitive environment.

  • Coaching: Our coaches are dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of basketball, while also focusing on advanced techniques and strategies. They are expected to start training our boys on the school basketball offensive and defensive systems and to encourage skill improvement and sportsmaniship.

  • Competitive Play: We are part of the Lancaster-Lebanon Travel Basketball League that competes against other schools in the region and some regional tournaments.

  • Skill Development: Through structured practices, individual drills, and team workouts, players will improve their dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive skills.

  • Team Spirit: We believe in the power of teamwork and building friendships. Our program emphasizes collaboration, respect, and sportsmanship on and off the court.

  • Committment: Travel Basketball is a winter sport and players are expected to make a full committment for the entire basketball season. Activities take place 3 to 4 times per week and the ability to travel to other schools is required. Activities could include 3 practices or 2 practices and a game or 1 practice and 2 games. Games and practices are usually on evenings and weekends.

Teams consist of 10 players who are choosen from tryouts evaluated by coaches, alumni players and/or board members.

There is no guarantee for even playing time although travel coaches are encouraged to exceed the league minimum requirements.

Tryouts take place in October and the season runs until February. 

Practices and home games usually take place at one of the CV elementary schools.

Players attending tryouts should have tha ability to exhibit the following skills:

  • Ball Handling – ability to dribble with both hands and handle pressure defense
  • Shooting –  proper shooting form for freethrows, jump shots and layups with both hands
  • Passing & Catching - passing on the move with proper decision making
  • Defense – man to man coverage with proper positioning and stance and good communication
  • Footwork – pivoting and defensive slide 
  • Rebounding – offensive and defensive with box-out technique
