Fall Ball is a great way to continue the baseball experience and is especially beneficial for those players who are transitioning from one division to the next.

For the fall 2022 season, we will be following standard Spring OVYBL League Rules and Pony Baseball Rules for baseball EXCEPT for the following exceptions implemented for the Fall Season:

Ages:

All players will play up to the next division they would be eligible to play in the spring of 2023. (ie Pinto: 6-7, Mustang: 8-9, Bronco: 10-11, and Pony: 12-13)

If a game ends because of weather conditions or darkness interferes with play so that the game is called (ended) by the umpire, it is a regulation game provided: a. Four full innings have been played; or if the home team has scored an equal or greater number of runs in four or four and a fraction turns at bat than the visiting team has scored in five turns.  b. Play has gone beyond four full innings and is called when the teams have not had an equal number of completed turns at bat. The score shall be the same as it was at the end of the last completed inning; unless the home team, in its half of the incomplete inning, scores a run (or runs) which equals or exceeds the opponent's score, in which case, the final score shall be recorded when the game is called.

PLAYING RULES

Pinto:   A batting order is made at the beginning of the game and must accommodate a minimum of (9) nine batting positions. Note: A team may play with (9) players. All players on the team must bat in rotation and the original order may not change.

The batting order can be played through only once during innings 1 through 5. Inning six, the batting order can be played through continuously. In innings 1 through 5, there is a five (5) run scoring limit. In inning six (final inning), there is no limit to the amount of runs recorded. There is no mercy rule in effect.

An inning is considered complete when either (3) defensive outs are recorded, or the offensive team plays once through their entire batting order (innings 1 through 5), or the (5) run scoring limit (innings 1 through 5) is reached. Whichever, occurs first.
