Safety:
• Universal Cheerleading Association and AACCA Safety Guidelines are followed.
• All participants must have a current physical form on file prior to participation.
• All participants must go through proper stunt progressions.
• No tumbling or stunting is permitted without a cheer coach is present.
• Absolutely no jewelry will be worn during practices, games or events, including body piercings
Attendance:
• Members represent their school at all times and are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and promote school spirit.
• Attendance at all practices, games and cheer events is mandatory. Outside commitments will not be considered a reason to miss cheer events. Absences related to outside commitments are considered unexcused.
• Planned absences for a game/event/practice/etc. should be requested in writing at least 48 hours in advance. (Coaches will determine if it will be excused.) Examples of excused absences may include:
· Funeral or death in the family
· Excused absence from school
· School-related performance or event
· Ridge Cheerleading-Related activity (i.e. RYSI, Competition)
• Students who are ill should notify a coach and captain as soon as possible.
• Unexcused absences may result in sitting out of or making up an event, or potential dismissal from the team.
Practices:
• The Cheerleading schedule will be posted and updated on the calendar on the cheer website, and is subject to change.
• All practices are closed to the public, unless invited by coaches.
• No cell phones are to be used during practice.
• Participants must attend all practices in order to perform at an event.
• Cheerleaders are expected to arrive on time. Any unexcused tardiness will result in disciplinary consequences.
