Hi Everyone !

Please read very carefully as you consider the option of trying out for this team this year.  I want you to consider the sacrifice or level of commitment I’m asking for and make sure this is something you are comfortable with.  

Players, Playing Time, Team Roster

Playing time will NOT be guaranteed for any player.  Playing time will be based on any combination of the following factors:

-          Attendance at practices and games

-          Attitude/Behavior/Compliance

-          Comprehension of what is being taught/coached

-          Fitness

-          Competence/skill level

-          Other team interests/goals (e.g. winning )

 Attendance will be taken for every practice and game and all players are expected to report any absences along with a reason.

 It is possible that some players may play a full game while others may only play 15 minutes depending on the factors identified above.

The team intends to carry 16 to 18 players in total. 

The final team roster will not be determined solely by the total number of players who showed up for tryouts.  A number of positions/openings on the team may remain vacant beyond October 2019 until other players meeting a select criteria have been met.

 Tryout Dates

Please register online to indicate whether or not you plan to try out again for the team this year by going to leaguelineup.com/ssc and the Online Registration link.  You must complete this prior to attending any tryout.  

1) Saturday Oct 6 from 2 to 3:30 pm at Cardinal Newman High School Outdoor Turf

2) Thursday Oct 11 from 7:30 to 9 pm at Cardinal Newman High School Outdoor Turf

3) Saturday Oct 13 from 12:30 to 2 pm at Cardinal Newman High School Outdoor Turf

Indoor Training

After our initial tryouts we will take a break from soccer for the remainder of the year and start up officially again in January.  We may meet a few random times however between now and December.  We plan to train twice a week with the possibility of adding a 3rd practice or exhibition game at random times. We will be training in gyms and we’ll try our best to see if we can get any turf or we may just wait till April and start early on outdoor turf.

Cost

I would expect our costs to be similar to the previous year.  With sponsorship/fundraising our goal is to keep the total amount per player for the entire year including indoor training, uniforms, tournaments, club fees approximately $800 payable in 3 payments.  If you are offered a position on the team, you will be asked to submit a non-refundable payment for $150 upon acceptance.
