Conestoga Legion Baseball Club is open to all T/E School District age eligible residents and currently sponsor teams in five age groups.

Player Age:  Player Legion age is now based on what age the player will be on December 31st of the year he is playing.

Rosteres:  Limited to 18 players.

Prep Legion:
For players 14 and under.  No more than twelve 14 year olds.

Conestoga fields 1 or 2 Prep teams depending on the number of players trying out.  In the past when having 2 teams they are set up as an "A" and "B" teams with the goal to compete for the State Championship while having as many players as possible play in Legion Baseball.
- We participate in the Chester County Prep League.  Some of the other teams in the league include Avon Grove, Coatesville, Concord, Downingtown, Exton, Glenmoore, Kennett, Malvern-Paoli, Oxford, West Chester and Westtown.
Schedule:
- Tryouts are held in mid-March or as soon as fields are open and playable.
- Attempts are made to schedule a few pre-season games against Prep teams from other leagues in the area.
- Most years we have hosted a (up to) 16 team Memorial Day Tournament (currently our only fund raising endeavor) which runs over 4 days with a minimum of 3 games.
- League season starts after Memorial Day and runs though the second week of July. Typically this includes 18 - 22 games or 3 - 4 games per week.
- Following completion of all regular season games a league playoff is run.
- The state tournament is held the last week of July or first week of August.


Sandlot Legion:
For players 15 and under.
Conestoga fields 1 or 2 teams depending on the number of players trying out.  In the past when having 2 teams they were set up as evenly as possible. 
 Goal is to provide as many players as possible to play in a higher level program to be better prepared for high school baseball. 
- Last year the Sandlot League consisted of the Chester County and Mainline leagues.  Other teams involved were Haverford, Nether Providence, Springfield, Glenmoore, Malvern-Paoli, Westtown, Downingtown, Perk Valley, Phoenixville and Spring City.

Schedule:
- Tryouts are held in mid-March or as soon as fields are open and playable.
- Attempts are made to schedule a few pre-season games against sandlot teams from other leagues in the area.
- We normally have competed in a Memorial Day Tournament hosted by Nether Providence.
- League season starts after Memorial Day and runs though early July. Last year we played 17 games.
- Following completion of all regular season games each league has a playoff tournament.
- A final regional tournament is held.


Junior (Youth) Legion:
For players 16 and under.
Roster limited to 12 sixteen year olds.

- We participate in the Chester County Youth American Legion League with teams from Avon Grove, Coatesville, Concord, Downingtown, Exton, Kennett, Malvern-Paoli, Oxford, West Chester, and Westtown.
Schedule:
- Tryouts are held in mid-March or as soon as fields are open and playable.
- Pre-season games against Junior teams from other leagues in the area are schedule on weekends starting in mid-April.
- We normally compete in a Memorial Day Tournament.

- League season starts after Memorial Day and runs though the first week of July. Typically we play home-and-away games against all other teams in the league.
- Non-league games against Junior teams from other leagues in the area are scheduled when possible.
- Following completion of all regular season games a league playoff is held.
- There are 4 Eastern Regionals and 1 Western Regional that starts on the third Saturday of July.  Chester County sends 2 (regular season champ and winner of the playoffs) and sometimes a third team to the Eastern Regional.

- The state tournament is held starting the last Saturday of July or first Saturday of August. The site alternates between the Eastern and Western part of the state.  Winners of each Eastern Regional, top three from the Western Regional and the host team make up the 8 teams.

Senior Legion:

For players 19 and under.
- We participate in the Chester County American Legion Baseball League with teams from Avon Grove, Caln, Downingtown, Exton, Kennett, Lionsville, Oxford, Paoli, Phoenixville, Spring City, West Chester and Westtown.

Schedule:
- All activities are dependent on coordination with high school baseball schedule.  Official games are not played until the high school's season is completed.

- Tryouts are held in late April.
- League season starts after Memorial Day and runs though the first week of July. We play between 18  - 24 league games.
- Following completion of all regular season games a league playoff is run with the top 8 teams.
- CCALB typically send 2 teams to the PA Region 3 tournament which starts the 3rd Saturday in July.
- The winners of the 7 PA Region tournament plus the host team participate in the state tournament which starts the last Tuesday of July.
- The PA State Champion and sometimes the runner-up then participates in the Mid-Atlantic Regional which starts the 2nd Thursday in August.
- The winners of the 8 Regional tournament participates in the American Legion World Series at Shelby, NC starting the third Friday of August.


Costs:
- Field Permits can run $1,500 - $2,000 (and continue to increase every year) per team.  Field maintenance equipment and supplies run another $500 per team.  The total costs are shared between the teams using the fields.
- Equipment (practice balls, batter helmets, coaches helmets, catcher's equipment, etc.) costs can run up to $500 per team.
- Baseballs run about $30 per home game.
- Entries fees for non-legion tournaments run between $300 and $600.
- Insurance and Legion fees run between $400 and $600.
- Umpires cost between $110 and $140 per home game.
- Based on the above expenses, the player fee typically run about $15 per game.
- In addition, a complete uniform (hat, shirt, pants, socks and belt) run $100 - $125.

Registration:
- For planning purposes all players wishing to try out for a Conestoga Legion team is requested to register as soon as possible.

- On-line forms are available on this web site.
- An initial deposit is requested to cover expenses prior to the tryouts being completed. The  on-line forms are set up to accept credit card.
- Full refunds (minus credit card fee) of the deposit will be made to players who do not make a team.  Other refunds may be made based on the particular situation (moving out of the area, injury that prohibits participation, etc.) if requested prior to rosters being determined.

Player Selection & Double Rostering Policy:
- Players wishing to play for Conestoga Legion Baseball Club will try out for their age appropriate team.  Top players from their age group will not be allowed to play on an older team if they haven't tried out and received approval from the organization.  Occasionally, players will be allowed to double roster with an older Legion team.
- Team Priority: Seniors, Juniors, Prep, & Sandlot.

- Players may double roster with other (non-legion) teams but will be by the approval of their primary legion team's manager.  Any misuse of this privilege will be cause for removal from the program with no refund.  Special double roster forms will be completed and signed by player, parent(s), and managers.
