The ESYLA program is an optional recreational travel lacrosse league that we offer in addition to our Falcon in-house recreational lacrosse program. The ESYLA is a boys and girls youth lacrosse league with clubs from across the Eastern Shore including Atlantic, Beach, Camden/Dover, Caroline, Dorchester, Fruitland, Kent, Queen Anne and Talbot.
We will submit teams comprised of actively participating players from our in-house recreational program to play in the ESYLA league. All actively participating in-house recreational players are eligible to participate on a team we submit into ESYLA as long as we have an available opening on a team. We reserve the right to cap the number of players per team that we submit into the ESYLA league to improve the playing experience for those that complete the Falcon ESYLA registration process early.
All ESYLA league games are played on Saturday mornings. We will have home and away games so travel is required to participate. Our in-house lacrosse program game schedule will be coordinated so that players can play in Saturday morning ESYLA games and also in their in-house games. Most in-house games will be played on Saturday's starting in the mid-afternoon. We will also play some in-house games on Friday evenings and on other weekday evenings in lieu of regularly scheduled practice.
All players participating in ESYLA league play are required, for insurance purposes, to become a member of US Lacrosse. The cost for a US Lacrosse membership is $30. US Lacrosse is the governing body of the sport and this is an ESYLA league rule. We also require an additional $30 per player to help cover officiating expenses. We are responsible to cover all officiating costs for our home games. The total additional cost is $60 per player.
The amount of teams and games per division could vary depending on interest level and the teams that the other clubs are able to field. It’s fair to say that each team we submit should get 6 to 8 games during the season with potential for more.
ESYLA league games start at the end of March/early April and finish up before Memorial Day weekend.
