Do your children love basketball? Are they ready to take their game to the next level? Would they like to play on a team with the best players in Hillsborough and for the program that has produced many of the top Hillsborough High School players of the last decade?

If so, consider the Hillsborough Travel Basketball Club (HTBC).

What is Travel Basketball?
Travel basketball teams are comprised of players from the same township or school district that participate in Travel basketball leagues and tournaments. The season runs during the normal basketball season, generally October through March.

Who can participate?
The Hillsborough Travel Basketball Club (HTBC) typically fields a single team per grade for boys and girls in 4th through 8th grade. The HTBC is open only to Hillsborough residents or students who attend Hillsborough Township Public Schools.

If you register a 3rd grade boy or girl for our tryouts, please note that unless the number of grade eligible registrants is below the number required to field a team, out-of-grade registrants will not be considered eligible to make the team.

Registration and Tryouts
Teams are selected by tryout.

Registration for tryouts typically opens in late July/early August each year.  You will know that registration is open when you can find the Registration link under "Forms" on the Welcome Page of our website.

Tryout sessions each season are typically held in September-October.

Once registration closes (typically a week before tryouts start) a $25 late registration fee will apply for registering in person.

Participation fees will be collected once teams are formed.

How much will we travel for "Travel"?
Most travel is local and limited to one or two locations. In past years there have been travel leagues and tournaments run in gyms in Hillsborough, Bridgewater, Montgomery, Flemington, Readington, Branchburg and North Brunswick. "Travel" is a bit of a misnomer in that Travel teams often only travel as much or less than other teams, such as CYO teams.

What is the time commitment?
Time commitment is 1 to 2 evenings of practice per week (in Hillsborough) as well as one to two games per week. Most leagues hold games on Sundays. Some leagues hold Saturday evening games. A minority of leagues hold games during weekday evenings. Travel games are often scheduled to not conflict with CYO games, so players can participate in both Travel and CYO if they desire.

Cost?
The cost of the program will be $275 per player. This covers the cost of participation in leagues and tournaments, uniforms, and equipment. The fee will be collected by your coach once the teams are selected.
