5-13 Year-Old Cheerleading Team:
The season begins on August 1st. All cheerleader are required to hand in a medical form . A copy of birth certificate must be handed in. Practices will be two nights a week on the field in August. We will have cheer camp Aug 14th ,15th,16th & 17th At either PAC or ISLAND. Once school begins, practices will be held one/two day on the field and one day at PAC or ISLAND. We will be practicing outside until it gets cold. The girls will cheer at games on Sundays. Competitions start in October & will continue until the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
As always cheer will be subject to change with the guidelines.
Practice schedules are subject to change based on availability of fields/PAC/ISLAND and weather.

Competition Teams:
Competition teams are for girls ages 5 thru 13. Our goal is to teach the girls about competitive cheerleading while emphasizing spirit, sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment and fun.
This youth cheer program is an age-based program and competitive teams are divided solely based on their age, therefore, a copy of a birth certificate is required. If a team is formed and available in your childs age, they must cheer on that team. "Cheering up" will not be permitted. There may be a need for combined team (i.e., 9/10 year old team) depending on the number of girls who have registerd. No more than 32 girls will be allowed on a team.
The season begins on August 1st. Practices are held in August at Howitt Middle School located at 70 Van Cott Avenue. Once school begins, practices will be held in the gyms at Howitt (days and times tbd). Practice will be held at least twice a week during August and once school starts in September, three days a week with one of the practices at PAC or ISLAND ( where the choreography is done. Practice schedules are subject to change based on availability of fields and gyms.
The competition cheerleaders will also cheer at home games on weekends. These games are part of their MANDATORY attendance!
The competition teams must follow a very strictly enforced attendance policy. These girls perform high level stunts and routines which makes full-team attendance a priority. Please take this into consideration before registering your child.
The teams will be entered into 5 to 7 competitions during the season including the Nassau/Suffolk Cheerleading Association Competition in November. The competitions are usually lengthy events and take place on one weekend day. Our season ends the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.
There will be a parent meeting held during practice during the first week of the season to discuss what is expected from the cheerleaders/parents, coaches and coordinators.
