Annual Player Awards

ANNUAL PLAYER AWARDS

Each year the NBMGSA accepts nominations for two very special awards.

Please send your nominations to NOMINATE@NBMGSA.CA

The recipients names will be engraved on a plate of the award plaque and kept with the NBMGSA trophies.

Congratulations to all award winners!

The first is the Amberly Auger Award for the hardest working player.  This award honors the perseverance of a young player who was determined to overcome set-backs in order to continue to play softball in the future.  Each year the  player who demonstrates perseverance, dedication and respect with an energetic and positive approach to every practice and game is selected as the Amberly Auger Award recipient.

Aaron Northrup Memorial Award for Exemplary Coaching

Aaron Northrup Memorial Award for Exemplary Coaching

Aaron was president of the North Bay Minor Girls Softball Association, as well as a coach and dedicated volunteer. He passed following a sudden heart attack in 2022. As a North Bay Police Staff Sgt, who’s career started in 2000, he was dedicated to service for many years, and he took great pride in mentoring and recruiting others to do the same. Aaron coached several sports in the community, including softball, soccer, volleyball, and basketball, even if neither of his kids were on the team.

To commemorate Aaron's contribution to our league, in 2023 we established the annual Aaron Northrup Memorial Award for Exemplary Coaching. His family suggested "recognition of a coach or volunteer who goes above and beyond to coach, mentor, teach/learn and grow the game. Nominations are received annually from players and/or parents and should include a list of reasons and examples of why that nominee is deserving." Please send your nominations to NOMINATE@NBMGSA.CA
