Manitoba Challenger Baseball has traditionally focused strictly on personal outcomes and empowering participants through the game of baseball.  Parents and players alike have expressed their desire for more challenge for the players through baseball specific and focused skill development.  In addition, the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD), supported by many organizations including Sport Manitoba and Baseball Manitoba, tells us that athletes should focus more on training opportunities to develop more than game play or “Competition”.    In keeping with our objectives, benefits and outcomes, we are introducing dedicated Skill Development Sessions. 

What makes Challenger Baseball stand out is that we focus on personal impacts and outcomes rather than competition.  Through both games and “Skill Development Sessions”, we strive to set and work towards player’s individual goals that will challenge each individual player at a level that matches their abilities.  Our goals fall into 3 main categories:

 Emotional and Social Well-Being

 Physical Literacy and FUNdamentals

 Baseball Specific Skills

Skill Development Sessions are completely optional.  Individual Buddies will not be arranged and if your player requires additional help, you are encouraged to bring your own.  We ask that you let us know if your player is interested in attending prior to the Monday of any given week to allow Coaches the opportunity to plan.

	BUD, SPUD & CHICKEN Date: June 2020 Location: TBD Details: Come out for dinner and fun with your whole family to support Challenger Baseball in Manitoba! This will be our big fundraiser for the year and features a silent auction for some great prizes you definitely want to get in on: 50/50, Live Auction for Select prizes, dance party and much more! The event is for all ages so invite your friends, co-workers, everyone you know! Tickets are $20 (Support Tickets - $10).  Players will be selling tickets to this event.  Alternatively, you can purchase them directly from Manitoba Challenger Baseball. 	BASEBALL MANITOBA DAY DATE: TBD LOCATION: TBD DETAILS: (FOR 2019) To celebrate the Province of Manitoba recognized Baseball Manitoba Day, the Winnipeg Goldeyes will pay tribute to their association with Baseball Manitoba. All players are welcome to attend and will be seated with their teammates. Each team will be welcomed over the public address system and we will join other Baseball Manitoba teams for a pre-game on-field Parade of Players led by the Goldeyes own Goldie and Goldette!    PROVINCIAL JAMBOREE DATE: TBD LOCATION: TBD DETAILS: (FOR 2019) This event will bring together players, Buddies, volunteers and families to celebrate Challenger Baseball in Manitoba! This event is open to all registered players in Manitoba and all players and their families are asked to join us as we celebrate a Grand Slam of a season! Super fun activities are planned and the best part is that players will be awarded for all their amazing achievements throughout the season! More details coming soon!
	BLUE JAYS BASEBALL ACADEMY SUPER CAMPS CHALLENGER GAME DATE: TBD LOCATION: TBD DETAILS:  Super Camps powered by Honda are the ultimate Major League Experience!   Challenger Players will be joined by both Blue Jays Alumni and Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructors in an organized, structured, and fun environment.  Blue Jays Alumni, some of which have been participating in Super Camps powered by Honda for several years, enjoy giving back to the baseball community of Canada and sharing their knowledge, skills, and experience with youth players across the country. We are extremely fortunate to have this opportunity!!!

30th ANNIVERSARY CALGARY CHALLENGER JAMBOREE - June 27-June 30 (Deadline to register: April 15, 2019)

In 2019 the Challenger program in Canada and Calgary will be celebrating its 30^th anniversary Calgary Challenger will be hosting a 4 day Jamboree commencing on Thursday June 27 and ending on Sunday June 30^th. The fields have been booked at Calgary Rotary Challenger Park Society located at- 3688-48 Avenue NE Calgary Alberta. This park is fully an all inclusive barrier free facility. The Hotel has been booked - Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary Airport. We are inviting all Challenger teams from across Canada to attend this celebration of the Challenger program and hope to see as many of you as possible. Book your tirp now and enjoy a fantastic weekend of Ball, fun, and develop new friendships, meet others from the different areas in Canada.There will be other activities for the players such as a petting zoo, wagon rides, food etc. A celebratory shirt will be handed out to each player along with a pin.The players will be transported by a School Bus to and from the Hotel to the diamonds. Parents with motor homes will be allowed to park and stay in the parking lot at the east end of facility, if they so desire. Register for Team Manitoba  at http://ChallengerBaseballManitoba.rampregistrations.com (Make sure the "Season" is set for "2019 Challenger Baseball Special Events")

 NATIONAL JAMBOREE - July 26, 2019, 9:00am, Roger’s Centre (Toronto, Ontario)

All registered Challenger players are invited to come out to Toronto to meet Challenger players from across Canada at this yearly event. The morning is filled with fun activities right on Roger’s Centre Field with rumors of Blue Jays Players/Alumni joining in the festivities! Lunch is provided and you’re invited to explore the nearby attractions while the Blue Jays gear up for their game that afternoon! Contact Bobbi Bottle to find out how to register, space is limited!
