Little League Softball is expanding in Monroe County!

NY District 4 is pleased to announce that Churchville is being added to the list of Little League communities in upstate NY.  This marks the first Little League charter in Churchville, giving girls in this community access to the world's largest and most respected youth sports organization.

Churchville Youth Baseball and Softball will administer the new Little League Softball program in the Churchville area.  Parents and players interested in the spring 2016 season of Little League Softball can find out more information on their website (www.leaguelineup.com/cyabaseball).

As a result of this expansion, neighboring Little League boundaries have been redrawn to be consistent with the respective community school districts.  Consequently, some families in the Churchville/Gates/Ogden/Spencerport area have new choices available to play softball. 

Little League allows a player to play for the league in which they reside, or in which they attend school.  But when boundaries are redrawn, Little League understands that some players may wish to remain with the league they were in, even though they may now live or attend school within a new league's boundaries.

To keep things simple, here is some basic information about your options for softball in 2016:

1.  If you played Little League Softball with either Gates or Spencerport in 2015, you have two options:

          a)  You can register and play with the same league you played in last year.

          b)  You can register with a new league based on your residence or the location of the school you attend.

Example:  Player A played Little League Softball in 2015 with Spencerport, and lives and/or attends school within Churchville's boundaries.  She has the option to continue playing with Spencerport in 2016, or to register and play with the new Churchville program. 

If the choice is to continue playing with Spencerport in 2016, a Regulation II(d) Waiver would need to be completed by Spencerport Little League.  This waiver would allow Player A, and any of their siblings, to play with Spencerport in 2016.  For a copy of the Regulation II(d) Waiver Form > CLICK-HERE

2.  If you are new to Little League Softball, you may register with a league based on your residence or the location of the school you attend.

Example:  Player B did not play Little League Softball in 2015.  She lives and/or attends school within Gates Little League's boundaries.  She would register and play with Gates Little League.

Parents have the option to register their children for the Little League that is truly most convenient to their family, and further enhance the role of community with the classmates of your Little Leaguers®.
