**Important UPDATE for players who attend school in Sierra Madre but are Non-Residents!**

Residency and School Attendance Eligibility

In an effort to accommodate for Little Leaguers to play with their classmates, and ease the burden on parents and guardians, Little League has amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located. To verify enrollment, parents will need to bring an official school document, such as a report card or school enrollment form, confirming enrollment in the school for the current academic year, dated before October 1, 2013. Read the full text of the new rule here.

"Little League is always looking for more ways to give all children the opportunity to have the best Little League experience possible," said Patrick Wilson, Little League Senior Vice President of Operations and Program Development. "This new rule will provide more flexibility for families to participate in the leagues that best fits their children."

**Important Note**

You may notice some changes to our player divisions, as compared to last year.  Most notably, Farm-Prep is no longer a machine-pitch division; it will now be "kid pitch" and much more focused on building the skills players will need to advance to the Farm level.  Please be sure to read the descriptions within the registration menus so you are up to speed on the expectations and skills associated with each level. Scroll to the bottom of this page for descriptions and age requirements for each division.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE:

The selection of Farm, Minors, or Majors Divisions for your player does not guarantee final placement in that division.  Coaches' assessments and Player Drafts will determine which division your player will be assigned.

Once your Online Registration is complete, mark your calendars with following important dates!

Player Divisions

Majors

The Majors division is for players' ages 10 to 12 (as of April 30, 2014). The Majors division is the most competitive baseball played on the regulation Little League field. The coaches will require players to think before each pitch, "What will I do if the ball gets hit to me?" In addition, players need to really understand the rules of baseball, be focused and constantly aware of what they are doing in the context of the game.

Minors - AAA

The Minors AAA Division is for players' ages 8 to 11 (as of April 30, 2014). The Minors (AAA) division introduces the added challenge of stealing bases and advancing on wild pitches. This division will specifically focus on; balanced hitting, proper fielding, throwing techniques, double play execution, plus pitching and catching. Although game scores are recorded at the Minors level, the goal is sportsmanship, respect, and camaraderie.

Farm - AA

The Farm (AA) division is for players' ages 7 to 9 (as of April 30, 2014). Farm AA is a "kid pitch" division for players whose skills have advanced beyond the basics taught in the Farm Prep division. The primary focus in this division is skills development in preparation for advancement to AAA, therefore game scores are not recorded. Players will be expected to learn position responsibilities and continue developing a solid foundation baseball’s rules and strategies.

Farm Prep - A

The Farm Prep (A) division is for players' ages 7 to 9  (as of April 30, 2014). It is designed for players emerging from the T-Ball program as an introduction to the next level of gameplay, including player pitching and catching, with a strong emphasis on fundamentals.  Game scores are not recorded as the focus is on basic skill development and teamwork. This division will place great emphasis on the players' understanding their positions and the basic rules of baseball.

T-Ball

This introductory division is for children ages 5 to 7 (as of April 30, 2014). This division introduces players to the great sport of baseball through focusing on basic hitting and fielding fundamentals, as well as a strong emphasis on participation and good sportsmanship. Players will be hitting off a tee for the first half of the season, and will face coach pitching for the second half of the schedule.
