Rainville earned a win in the Cardinals sweep of the 4th Ward A's in the semifinals, then had a no-decision in the win over the Miners.


2022
Jared Duquette, 4th Ward Cardinals

Duquette pitched a complete-game and struck out 10 in the first game of the Championship series against the Lyon Mountain Miners.


2021
Jared Duquette, 4th Ward Cardinals

Duquette hurled a complete-game 1-0 win over the Lyon Mountain Miners as the Cardinals captured their fourth consecutive CVBL title.


2020
Tom Neale, 4th Ward Cardinals

Neale recorded both wins in the Cardinals championship series win over the Lyon Mountain Miners.  Neale also hurled a 1-0 win over the 4th Ward A’s in the semifinals.

2017

AJ Gordon, Peru Dodgers

Gordon hurled the title-clinching win over the 4th Ward Cardinals and had a win in the semifinals over the Lyon Mountain Miners.


2016

Eric Rock, 4th Ward Cardinals

Rock won two games as the Cardinals captured their third consecutive CVBL championship.  Rock allowed one run in two-complete game efforts and struck out 16.

Conor Casey, 4th Ward Cardinals


2014

Andy Kneussle, 4th Ward Cardinals

Kneussle recorded a win over the Meron’s Expos in the championship series and a win over the 4th Ward Timberjaxx after finished the American Legion season.


2013

Dave Waldron, Lyon Mountain Miners

Waldron went 3-0, pitching two complete games and striking out 18 as the Miners won their second consecutive CVBL title.


2012
Dave Waldron, Lyon Mountain Miners

Waldron registered both wins in the championship series against the Airborne Speedway Padres.


2011
Steve Burris, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Burris was the winning pitcher in both games against the Lyon Mountain Miners in the Finals and recorded a win over the Meron’s Expos in the semifinals.


2010
Billy Davis, Meron's Expos

Following a regular season where he went 11-1, Davis recorded two wins over the Airborne/Hockey Plus Padres in the semifinals and a win over the Lyon Mountain Miners in the championship to lead the Expos to their first-ever CVBL title.


2009
Dave Waldron, Lyon Mountain Miners

Waldron earned three playoff victories as the Miners repeated as CVBL champions.  In the opening round, Waldron earned the win over the 4th Ward Timberjaxx hurling six innings and allowing two runs.  Waldron earned a win over the Cardinals in game two of the semifinal series against the Cardinals and then earned the victory in game two of the finals over Meron’s.


2008
Dave Waldron, Lyon Mountain Miners

Waldron won four playoff games as the Miners captured the crown.  Waldron allowed one run over five innings in a first-round win over the A’s. In game one of the semifinals, Waldron scattered nine hits in a complete-game effort to earn the win over the Mudhens.  In the finals, Waldron hurled seven innings and struck out three in a game-one win over the Cardinals, then hurled a complete-game five-hitter to give the Miners their first CVBL title since 2005.


2007 
Tom Neale, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Neale won his second consecutive award pitching the Cardinals to the CVBL championship.  Neale won four playoff games.  Neale struck out nine over six innings of no-hit ball in the Cards’ opening-round win over the A’s.  In the semifinals, Neale hurled eight innings and struck out 12 in an opening-game win over the Mudhens.  In the finals, Neale hurled eight innings of three-hit ball in a game one no-decision.  In game two, Neale went the distance of a 2-1 win, and then earned the win in relief of game three!


2006 
Tom Neale, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Neale threw a complete-game six-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts in game one and struck out two batters with the bases loaded to earn a save in game two as the Cardinals swept the CR Tunes Mudhens. Neale also earned a win with a five-inning, seven-strikeout outing against Hockey Plus.


2005 
Aaron Johnson, Lyon Mountain Miners

Johnson recorded three playoff wins, including the win in Game three of the finals over the CR Tunes Mudhens. Johnson hurled 18 innings and struck out eight as the Miners eliminated the Cardinals in the semifinals and then went hurled a complete game with six strikeouts in the deciding game against the Mudhens.


2000 
David Davidson, CR Tunes Mudhens

Davidson recorded four playoff wins, including two in the finals, as the CR Tunes Mudhens captured their first-ever CVBL title by sweeping the Lyon Mountain Miners. Davidson also recorded a win against the Cellular-One Reds in the opening round, and struck out 10 in a complete-game win over the Plattsburgh Cardinals in the semifinals.


1999 
Nick Chase, Lyon Mountain Miners

Chase led the Miners to their first CVBL crown in 24 years with a 6-0 record in the playoffs. Chase also became the first player in CVBL history to receive the Most Valuable Player and Pitcher of the Playoffs in the same season. Chase pitched 45 innings of a possible 47 for the Miners in the playoffs. He recorded two wins against the Clinton Lakers (first round), Plattsburgh Cardinals (semifinals) and CR Tunes Mudhens (championship). Against the Mudhens, Chase allowed 13 hits and struck out 15 in 16 innings.


1997 
Keith Splittler, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Spittler became the first pitcher to win the award strictly out of the bullpen, winning the championship series finale against the Altona Hornets in relief.


1996 
Dave Betrus, Altona Hornets

Betrus registered three wins as the Altona Hornets returned to the CVBL by capturing the league title. Betrus earned two wins in the finals over the Cardinals - one in relief and the clincher with a six-inning performance. He also earned a win in the first round by beating Schroon Lake/Crown Point.


1995 
Tom Neale, Clinton Lakers

Neale hurled a pair of complete-game victories over Midas in the finals to give the Lakers their first title. In the semifinals against Lyon Mountain, Neale struck out five in a complete-game effort as the Lakers won in a sweep.


1994 
Matt Sames, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Sames won three games in the playoffs as the Cardinals became the first-ever team to win three consecutive playoff titles. In the finals against Midas, Sames hurled five innings in game one and a complete-game seven-inning outing in game two on the same day. In the semifinals against AuSable Forks, Sames hurled a complete-game nine-inning game with 10 strikeouts.


1993 
Scott Moody, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Moody recorded all four team wins as the Cardinals became the first team to win back-to-back championships since Peru did it 10 years ago. Moody hurled 13 innings in two games against Midas in the finals and 13 innings in two wins over the Altona Bombers in the semifinals.


1992 
Tim Pratt, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Pratt recorded all four of the Cardinals victories on their way to the CVBL title. The lefty hurled five innings of both finals games against Midas and seven innings in both wins over AuSable Forks.


1991 
Dennis Labarge, Altona Hornets

Labarge recorded three playoffs wins and saved another as the Altona Hornets won their first-ever CVBL title. Labarge struck out 12 in a complete-game effort as the Hornets swept Peru in the final. Labarge also hurled a complete-game in the semifinal clincher against Sportsman's Lounge. In game one of the opening-round series against Sportsman's Lounge, Labarge earned the win with an eight-inning relief effort. 


1990
Mark Kiroy, Redford River Rats

Kiroy recorded a win over AuSable Forks in the semifinals and hurled a complete-game three-hitter in game one of the finals against Peru.


1989 
Jeff Doorey, Peru/Al's Patchwork

Doorey recorded all five of his teams’ playoff victories as Peru/Al's Patchwork topped its perfect regular season (13-0) with a perfect run through the playoffs. Doorey won both games against the Redford River Rats in the championship. Doorey hurled a complete-game four-hitter with 12 strikeouts in game one. In game two, Doorey hurled four scoreless innings of relief allowing two hits and striking out five as Peru/Al's Patchwork recorded a come-from-behind win to capture the title. Doorey also hurled a complete-game three hitter with 12 strikeouts in a semifinal game against Saranac Lake.


1988 
John Flynn, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Flynn recorded a 5-1 record in the playoffs, including a pair of complete-game victories over the Altona Hornets in the finals. Flynn struck out 11 Hornets in game one and six more in game two. Flynn also recorded a win against Peru-Al's Patchwork in the semifinals and a pair of victories over the Midas Mudhens in the first round.


1987
Jeff Doorey, Peru/Al's Patchwork

Doorey registered three playoff wins, including two over the Plattsburgh Cardinals in the finals. In game one, Doorey allowed three hits and struck out 14 in seven innings of work. In game three, he hurled a complete game to lead Al's Patchwork to the championship. In the semifinals he twirled a complete-game with 14 strikeouts in game one of a sweep.


1986 
John Flynn, AuSable Forks Spirits

Flynn registered two complete-game wins over the Plattsburgh Cardinals in the finals. In game one, Flynn allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out nine. In game two, Flynn gave up five hits, no earned runs and struck out eight. Flynn also recorded a complete-game, four-hitter in the semifinals against Redford.


1985 
Jeff Doorey, Peru Well Drillers

Doorey registered a 3-1 playoff mark, including two complete-game wins in the championship against McGee's Mudhens. Doorey stuck out 13 in a complete-game six-hitter in the series finale. In five playoffs games, Doorey hurled 41 innings.


1984
John Flynn, AuSable Forks Spirits

Flynn recorded a 4-1 mark in the playoffs, including two wins in the finals over Peru. After losing the opening game of the championship 2-1, Flynn hurled a complete-game shutout in game two and worked into the ninth inning of a combined shutout with Brian Cross. In the series, he pitched 26 1/3 innings, allowed 17 hits, two runs and struck out 19. Flynn also recorded two wins over McGee's Mudhens in the semifinals.


1983 
Jeff Doorey, Peru/Ormsby's Well Drillers

Doorey recorded three wins and a save as he pitched 26 innings, struck out 23 and allowed five runs. In the finals against AuSable Forks, Doorey won both games allowing nine hits, one run, and striking out 16 in 16 innings.
