Welcome to Waltham Youth Basketball. You are part one of the best youth basketball programs in the area. We believe YBA provides its players the best opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals, discover new friends and most importantly have fun.
YBA balances a philosophy by which development of basketball skills and competition go hand-and-hand. While YBA does maintain standings and post season play-offs to determine a league champion, we strongly embrace sportsmanship and team play.
YBA teaches man-to-man defense and not zone defense. We use parity rules to ensure each team is well balanced. To ensure that every player participates in every game, each player must play one full quarter and must also appear in each half.
We subscribe to a strong code of conduct for all players, coaches, referees and parents.
We look forward to seeing you at the games and encourage you to talk with our directors and coaches during the course of the season with any suggestions or comments you may have.
