Senior Players Code of Conduct

The image and reputation of any club are vital to its ongoing success and reflects the Club's standing in the community and the cricket world.

Our code of conduct sets the standard of conduct required by our players, members and officials as representatives of the ATCO Cricket Club Inc.

Club members and officials are expected to abide by our code of conduct while representing the club in any capacity(before, during and after a match or training and social functions.).

1. Members are expected to respect umpires, opposition players and supporters, our team mates and our members and supporters.

2. Unsportsman like behaviour is unacceptable.

3. The use of verbal or physical abuse is unacceptable

4.The use of obscene language is unacceptable.

5. Members will refrain from any form of harassment or discrimination including : Harassment/Discrimination on the grounds of disability, Sexual harassment/discrimination, Racial harassment/discrimination or Vilification on the grounds of any of the above.

6. Any member that causes the club to be fined as a result of their behaviour shall be required to compensate the club for the amount of the fine.

7. Members are expected to take pride in our clubrooms and respect the furniture and fittings. Prior to leaving the clubrooms members must ensure that the area they(and/or their guests)have used is clean and tidy.

8.Members are respect all club property, including match day and training equipment. Unauthorized use or theft of club or members property or money is unacceptable.

9.Members are responsible for the behaviour of any visitors they introduce to the club.

10. The club such practices the responsible service of alcohol(RSA). Members (and their guests)are expected to make their best endeavours to ensure that RSA requirements are complied with at all times.

11. Members are expected to follow the reasonable direction of the responsible committee person, bar/canteen staff while utilizing the clubroom facilities.

12. Members are expected to play a part in the operation of the club.

Breaching the Code of Conduct

Any breach of the code of conduct will be assessed by the club's committee or a disciplinary panel appointed by the management committee. As per the club's constitution the committee may by resolution, expel suspend or fine a member who "has been guilty of conduct unbecoming a member or prejudicial to the interests of the Club".

A charge relating to a breach of the code of conduct can arise from a complaint(official or unofficial)made by any person. That person can be a member of our club, a member of an opposing club , an umpire or other official or a member of the public.

Any complaint in relation to a breach of the code of conduct should be directed to the Club President/Chairperson.

The member charged can appeal the decision as per the club's constitution, should they feel the decision is incorrect or the penalty is inappropriate.

Social Media Policy

It is essential that you understand that comments you make via social media platforms are as public as if you were making the same comments to the media or at a public forum.

Compliance

Depending on the circumstances, non-compliance with this policy may constitute a breach of PDCA and ATCO Cricket Club By-laws.

Those who fail to comply with this policy may face disciplinary action.

Definitions

Social media may include (although not limited to):

 

 

* social networking sites (e.g. Facebook, Myspace)

* video and photo sharing websites (e.g. Youtube)

* blogs, including corporate blogs and personal blogs

* micro-blogging (e.g. Twitter)

* instant messaging (including SMS)

 

Statement of Policy

Personal use of Social Media

Overview

The ATCO Cricket Club recognises that you may wish to use social media in your personal life. This policy does not intend to discourage nor unduly limit your personal expression or online activities. However you should recognise the potenial for damage to be caused (either directly or indirectly) to ATCO Cricket Club or those involved within ATCO Cricket Club in certain circumstances via your personal use of social media. Accordingly, you should comply with this policy to ensure that the risk of such damage is minimised. You are personally responsible for the content you publish in a personal capacity on any form of social media platform. 

Where your comments or profile can identify you as having an association with a PDCA club, 

You must :

* ensure that all comments published are accurate and not misleading

* be polite and respectful to all the people you interact with

You must not :

* post material that is offensive, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, bullying,discriminatory, hateful. racist, sexist or is otherwise unlawful

* make any comment or post any material that might otherwise cause damage to ATCO Cricket Club's reputation or bring it into disrepute

 

General

* Be punctual and help with match chores. ie boundary markers or matting.
* Support your Captain and team mates.
* Be patient, disciplined and follow team plans.
* Respect the game and all those involved.
* Play hard but fair.
* Communicate in an upfront manner.
* All Players to make themselves available for open selection.
(to be selected for any grade)
* Other wise you may be one of the last selected(if selected)
depending on the number of players available and your circumstances
* Abide by the rules and constitution and accept any decision made by
the Committees of the ATCO Cricket Club Inc.

Fielding

* Mark and stay in your position.
* Concentrate.
* Give eye contact to your Captain.
* Encourage team mates in a positive manner.
* Move in with the bowler.
* Stop the ball first then worry about the run out.
* Keep good care of the ball, throws to the keeper.
* Be observant.
* Help build pressure.
* Give 100%

Batting

* Have a plan.
* Value your wicket, concentrate.
* Build partnerships, small leads to big.
* Run positively between the wickets.
* Back up at the non strikers end.
* Stay in the present. Don't get ahead and pre-empt deliveries. Whats gone is gone.
* Avoid eye contact with the bowler.
* Use wait, yes or no. NOT GO.

Bowling

* Have a plan, warm up, run up etc.
* Be patient, dot balls build pressure.
* Bowl line and length. Above all be disciplined.
* Observe between overs.
* Be positive, bowling is always a chance to get a wicket.
* Get batsmans attention is you can.
* Dont make silly appeals.
* Negotiate with Captains in regards to fielder placement and strategy.
