Candidate Statements:
Candidates for President
Jim Peters
Previous position held: President
I have been a member for 30 years. I would like to continue the work I have been doing with the leadership group over the last several years. Like our previous presidents, I am committed to finding new leagues for our officials to work in and I would like to see our training programs, particularly for veteran officials, continue to expand. I have helped with the last four camps and assisted with our meetings, providing the technology and video presentations.
Candidates for Vice President
Bill Smith
Previous position held: Vice President
I have been an active member of CNBOA for 7 years and held the position of vice president this past year. I will continue to work closely with the CYO assigner to insure that CNBOA members are assigned to officiate these games. I will continue to work hard to maintain CNBOA's respected position as an officiating board in the state of NJ and continue to find more leagues and opportunities for our officials to work. Thank you for your consideration and support!
Candidates for Secretary/Treasurer
Derek Haley
Previous position held: Treasurer (appointed by Executive Committee to complete Kevin St. Onge's term)
Having just completed my seventh year as an active member of CNBOA, I’m seeking to remove the interim designation as Treasurer – filling a portion of the role vacated by my predecessor (Kevin St. Onge). With an Economics Degree, as well extensive experience on Executive Boards for different organizations, I’m confident I can be a valuable addition to CNBOA’s Board and look forward to the opportunity. While I’m a relative neophyte compared to others in the organization – specifically, several Board Members – my outside involvement should lend itself well to the continued evolution of CNBOA. Thank you for your careful consideration and anticipated support… it’s appreciated.
Candidates for Executive Committee General Member - 2 Positions and 1 Alternate
Bill Meyer
Previous position held: General Member
I would like to be considered for one of the positions on the Executive Committee/ General Member. I have been a member in good standing with CNBOA for over 20 years and I believe that I have been a true representative of the organization. I would assist in a number of key areas; a mentor to the membership, coordinate attendance, supervise meetings, and in general, promote CNBOA. Thank you for your considerations. [2017 Statement]
Ralph Dunhamn
Previous position held: General Member
I have been a member of CNBOA for 25 years. I served on the Executive Committee two years ago and was a part of the leadership team. The skills and knowledge that I learned from that year, gave me the confidence to run for another term. I believe that if elected, that I can help continue moving the organization forward in a positive way.
If elected my priority would be to provide a voice for the collective CNBOA members and strengthen CNBOA visibility throughout the basketball community. I seek this position because I feel that I can help further improve CNBOA environment by working towards the goal that every member, regardless of years of service, has a positive experience. Why CNBOA members should elect me? My fellow CNBOA members should only elect me if you feel I can represent you effectively. I will represent your interests and concerns fairly and completely.
Jim Wright
