Coach Clearances

All Kedron coaches are required to complete a background check.  The past few years clearance checks were available through a non-PA state vendor that provided a streamlined cost effective method for completing both the Criminal History Check and the Child Abuse Clearance in a single transaction.  A new PA law in 2014 (Act 153) now prohibits the use of any non-state vendor and requires that clearances be obtained via the links below.  BOTH clearance checks MUST be completed.  BOTH clearance checks are also now free for volunteers.  Completed clearance certificates must be turned in to the Kedron Youth Association Board.

Criminal History Check Link or (https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp) - Use the 'New Record Check' button that is designated 'Volunteers Only'.

Child Abuse Clearance Link or (https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home)

  • You will need to create an Individual Account on the Child Welfare Portal that will be used to apply for your Child Abuse History Check.
  • These clearances are good for 60 months from the issue date.
  • Any clearances obtained for another group/organization/occupation using the process outlined above will be accepted.
