HOW TO DONATE:
April 22, 2009 --
Folks can donate with a check by mailing it to: Montana Tech Foundation 1300 W Park ST Butte, MT 59701 Just indicate it is for the scoreboard project. For those wanting to use a credit card, donations can be done online at: https://go.mtech.edu/SSLPage.aspx?pid=211 Credit cards can also be phoned in to 800-984-4683. If someone wanted to make a cash donation, we can handle that if they came to our office on Granite Street. Of course, donors are welcome to drop off checks or bring their credit card to the office as well. If someone wanted to do a monthly or quarterly charge, or some other out of the ordinary arrangement, they can call me at 406-496-4233 and I’ll do my best to accommodate them. We’ll issue a receipt back to the donor for tax purposes. It would be a good idea to stress the importance of corporate matches as well. Many companies will match gifts to higher education. Usually, a company’s HR department can help the employee out with the specifics if that company has a program. Greetings Fellow Orediggers & Fans!
We write this letter to inform you about a new organization, M Club Alumni (MCA)! The MCA will consist primarily of former football players and supporters, with a primary goal of supporting Montana Tech Football. We are very excited to invite you to be a member of the MCA and to help Montana Tech Football become a National Championship Contender in the NAIA.
Despite success in the past twenty years we feel very strongly that the MCA can make a positive impact on Digger Football and take it to the next level. For many, Digger Football has given us a great deal and it is our turn to pay it back. Our primary mission is to raise funds in order to complete projects that provide an annual income directly to Oredigger Football. We are working in conjunction with the Montana Tech Foundation, who will hold all funds raised, yet the MCA will be able to determine what funds are used on what projects. With this model YOU will be able to see your impact on Digger Football!
Recently Montana Tech hired a second full time assistant coach, which makes Tech tied for last in the conference with two full time assistants. Despite operating with limited staff and resources, Montana Tech has a great deal to be proud of:
• In 20 seasons, the Orediggers have finished 1st, tied for 1st, or 2nd 14 times.
• The Orediggers have been in the post season 5 times (1992, 1996, 1997, 2004 and 2005) advanced to the National Championship in 1996, beat Azusa Pacific in Los Angeles in 2005 (A.P.U.’s 2nd home loss in 5 years).
• Record 116 wins – 94 losses – 1 tie
• 6 Frontier Conference Championships or co-championships, 8 second place finishes.
• Post Season Record (4 wins and 5 losses).
Many of you are already aware that the Frontier Conference has become the premier conference in NAIA Football. Carroll College had advanced to the post season and won National Championships 4 years in a row (2002 – 2005). In 2006 three Frontier teams were ranked in the top 25, Montana Tech being one of those teams. Other conference schools have made significant financial investments in support of their programs. Montana Tech football needs our help to continue this standard of success!
Our first project is to raise $75,000 to install contour seats in Alumni Coliseum. By doing this, Montana Tech will be able to sell 500 + seats as reserved Season Tickets thus raising approximately $55,000 annually from the sale of these seats. With this annual income, the football program plans to add a 3rd full time assistant coach. This is where you can make a significant difference at Montana Tech! With your help the project will be completed in time for the 2007 Digger campaign. Coach Green is the first donor and has already given $1000 to this project we invite you to join him and give your $1000!
Your donation is 100% tax deductible! The Montana Tech Foundation will keep track of all funds donated and send a statement directly to you at the beginning of 2008. Please find the attached informational brochure which contains the sponsorship information.
All donations are welcome, but we do have 2 special sponsorship levels:
MCA Gold Sponsor - $1000 +
*All Gold Sponsors will receive a personalized commerative plaque upon completion of this project.
MCA Silver Sponsor - $500 - $999
*All Gold and Silver Sponsors will have their name engraved on a plaque in Alumni Coliseum.
