**FIRST ROUND**

Bowser & Clancy's Pub

GAME 1.......CLANCY'S PUB....10.......BOWSER....7

Bowser jumped out to an early 6-0 lead but couldn't hold on as Clancy's came back to tie the game at six after six innings.  The Pub then won the game with four in the top of the seventh to keep their late season magic going.   Clancy's lost their final regular season game after winning three straight and thought the season was over, to the point that management collected the teams uniforms.  The Pub ended up with the final playoff spot by winning the tie breaker with Steel Towne and finished just a half game ahead of Hot Shots who lost 10-9 on the last night of the year.  Bowser's luck has been going the opposite way even before losing the lead tonight.  In their final game of the season they carried a two run lead into the bottom of the seventh against Quinn but couldn't hold onto that lead either.  A win that night would have gave the first round bye to Bowser instead of Quinn.  Jayson Monroe and Mark Tripson lead Clancy's with 3 hits each who got excellent relief pitching from John Beverage who only gave an unearned run in 4 1/3 innings of work on just two hits and four walks.  Dalaine Ofchinick lead Bowser wihh two hits.

GAME 2.......BOWSER....11.......CLANCY'S PUB....6

The Bowser bats were booming again early for a 4-1 lead after three innings.  The fourth inning was when the Twins put things away by scoring six times on their way to leading 10-1.  Bill Theobald's grand slam in the fifth was the high point of the game for Clancy's.  Jim Onder took over on the mound for Bowser after Theobald's second hit of the night and shut out Clancy's over the last 2 2/3 innings of the contest.  The Twins were lead at the plate by Corey Deighan with three hits and two from Chad Jacob.  The Tar Heels also got three hits from Joe Aul and two from Mark Tipson.

GAME 3.......BOWSER....11.......CLANCY'S PUB....2

Bowser scored five times with two outs to break a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning as they moved passed Clancy's Pub and into the semi finals.  Corey Deighan picked up the complete game victory for the Twins.  Eight of the nine Bowser starters had at least one hit lead by a pair from Kyle Lucot.  The Tar Heels got two hits from A.J. Kavinsky.

Carriage Inn & Klingensmith Insurance

GAME 1.......KLINGENSMITH INSURANCE....2.......CARRIAGE INN....1.......9 INNINGS

The extra inning game took two nights to play as darkness suspended the matchup after the first eight frames at Helen Richey.  Carriage Inn scored in the first inning and Klingensmith's John Rende tied the game with an rbi single in the third.  The game picked up the next night at South Allegheny and the Blue Jays won it in the bottom of the ninth.  The last inning saw singles from Shaun Murray and Ryan Bradzgon before Dayne Holland's single on an 0-2 pitch to end the game.  Erick Locker threw the first eight innings for Klingensmith and allowed the Reds just a first inning run.

GAME 2.......CARRIAGE INN....6.......KLINGENSMITH INSURANCE....0

Game two started right after game one was completed tonight at South Allegheny and Carriage Inn continued to get excellent pitching.  Nolan Krivijanski delivered a two hit shutout for the Reds in their 6-0 victory over Klingensmith Insurance.

GAME 3.......KLINGENSMITH INSURANCE....3....CARRIAGE INN....1

Klingensmith Insurance moves on to the semi finals with the deciding game victory over Carriage Inn.  The series has featured excellent pitching from both teams.  Tonight's star from for the Blue Jays was Liam Halferty (Westminster) who pitched a complete game giving up just one run.  Dayne Holland continued hit clutch hitting by driving in all three runs.  The defense made numerous plays, led by Johnny Rende (Grove City) at SS to preserve the victory.

GAME 1....QUINN CONSTRUCTION....11.......HARVEY WILNER'S TAVERN....9.......11 INNINGS

Tarran Senay's two extra base hits lead Quinn Construction to the opening game win over Harvey Wilner's in eleven innings.  Senay's two out, two run triple in the top of the seventh tied the game at nine.  The first ten innings were played on Saturday at Winklevoss Park until darkness put a stop to the game.  The action resumed on Sunday at Beedle Park and Senay's double in the top of the eleventh drove in two for Quinn in their comeback victory.  Tim Donnelly blasted a grand slam for the Tavern in the third inning as they scored six times to erase an early 2-0 Quinn lead.  Quinn then scored five times over the next three innings to tie the contest at seven before Harvey Wilner's pushed across two in the sixth to retake the lead at 9-7.  The Mudcats were lead to the win at the plate by Tony Kostelnik and Senay with three hits each.  Donnelly with four hits was the top hitter for the Tavern who also got three from Don McDuffee.  The late frames of the evenly matched contest saw excellent relief pitching.  Dan Laird for Quinn allowed just two runs in five innings of work while Harvey's Jon Corcoran threw three scoreless innings.

GAME 2....QUINN CONSTRUCTION....3.......HARVEY WILNER'S TAVERN....2.......12 INNINGS

The eleven inning first game of the series was the longest in recent DNL memory, but that thought was erased quickly in game two today at Beedle Park.  Game two, as game one did, took two nights to play as action yesterday was halted by darkness after eleven innings.  Quinn finally won the game in the bottom of the twelfth with an unearned run on an infield error with two outs after starting the inning with a walk and a single.   The winners scored twice in the first after Harvey's started the game with a run in the top of the inning.  The game was tied at two in the third inning before the pitchers for both teams took control of the game.  Harvey Wilner's starter Isaiah Marsh didn't allow a hit during his last 7 2/3 innings of work before turning the game over to Jon Corcoran who held Quinn scoreless on just two hits during his three innings on the mound.  Luke Hils and Don Francia were unscored upon in middle relief for the Mudcats as they combined to work 8 2/3 innings allowing just four hits.  Tony Kostelnik and Rick Olasz lead the winners with two hits each.  Harvey's got two hits apiece from Tim Donnelly, Don McDuffee and Craig Price.

GAME 3....QUINN CONSTRUCTION....4.......HARVEY WILNER'S TAVERN....2

The Mudcats held on for a series clinching victory to give owner Jim Quinn his first DNL title.  Tom Simcho joined a small group in league history as he now has won championships as a manager and a player.  Tarran Senay lifted a three run homer in the top of the first to get Quinn off to a quick start.  The lead was four in the third until Don McDuffee drove home a pair for Harvey Wilner's.  The Tavern got two men on after two outs in the seventh before Nick Yobbi struck out the final batter of the game to finish off the sweep for the Mudcats.  Yobbi also got the first batter he faced to hit into an inning ending double play as he relieved Jim Pasquine in the fifth.  Pasquine picked up the win as he allowed four hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings before Yobbi, who gave up just one hit in 2 2/3 innings, earned the save.  Yobbi also lead Quinn at the plate with three hits along with a pair from Senay.  Quinn's Tony Kostelnik also had two hits to finish the post season with five consecutive multiple hit games.
