Brockton Youth Cheerleading was founded by LaRonda Campbell in 2001. This program was created with all girls in mind. She wanted to instill the value of dance and creative exercising to her daughters and nieces and what better way than with cheerleading :) What once started as a small 10 student after school class has grown into a full evening program averaging between 80 to 125 girls each year. Ronda also expanded the program by offering stunt and tumble classes, and an all star cheer team.

BYC is a fantastic community-involved program. This program enforces mannerism in behavior, alot of positive energy and a great attitude towards teamwork. This cheerleading program is a great introduction to cheerleading for all ages (3 to 14) and it places a strong emphasis on fitness, teamwork, self-esteem and social skills.

What a great group of people to be around and you will feel it the minute you walk through the doors at the Baker School on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

The regular season runs from September through March of each year. Practices are on Tuesday or Wednesday nights . Classes are split for ages 3-7 and ages 8-14.

All cheerleaders will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading such as:
· Saftey
· Importance of Stretching
· Cheer Poisitions/Techinques
· Cheers/Chants
· Jumps
· Basic Tumbling
· Voice enhancements
· The basic steps to building a pyramid
· Simple stunting
· Lightweight lifting
· Light aerobics
· Most importantly teamwork!!!!!

They will march in the Brockton Holiday Parade, perform at various nursing homes in the community. Celebrate with a Harvest festival in late October/early November at Skatetown, holiday celebrations in December and February along with various fundraisers and the season finale show which is held in March.

Cheerleaders ages 8-14, who believe they are ready to advanced are welcome to try out for the all-star team in April. Auditions will be announced. BYC strongly recommends that all 1st time cheerleaders participate and commit to at least one year of the regular season program.
