The Model Laboratory baseball team used a big, late rally to pick up a win at home Saturday.
The Patriots (8-10) scored six times in the sixth, propelling them to a 9-3 win over Doss. Model had nine hits and took advantage of six errors by the Dragons.
Three Model pitchers combined to allow just six hits.
Nate Davis was 2-for-3. Mitchell McCown walked twice and had an RBI. Casey Brandenburg was 1-for-3 with a walk, RBI and scored a run. Taylor Hill had a double, walk, RBI and scored a run. John Frazier was 1-for-4 with two RBI. Cruise Pingleton was 1-for-2. Andrew Sisson walked and scored twice.
Luke Keck was 1-for-4 and scored twice. Brandon Tudor was 1-for-2 with a walk, RBI and scored a run. Zack Long was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and scored a run.
Pingleton started and went 3 1/3 innings. He allowed six hits, three runs (two earned), while three strikeouts and two walks.
Tudor pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and two walks.
Keck pitched one inning with one walk and one strikeout.
Mode is set to return to action Tuesday at home against Lynn Camp.
