Next-Step Program Community Service at Waianae!
November 14, 2008
The Next-Step Program Event was held out in Waianae in conjunction with members of the Honolulu First Church of the Nazarene on Friday Evening November 14, 2008. Clothing and donations were distributed to the community children through fun games and activities and NKM Members Brittany Mendoza, Tyra Kong, Caitlyn Thomas, Harlee Huckso-Shim, and Brooke Mendoza seen in the photo below were on hand to help. Also there representing NKM were Karl Sakamoto, Sandra Shim, Sandra's mom and dad, Michele Mendoza, and the Kong family Darrell, Ella, Dylan, and Micah. Great job by all of the volunteers and for representing NKM at this successful event! Please see the photo album for more photos.

Congratulations and thanks to Board Member Sandra Shim for representing NKM on November 15, 2008 at Bishop Museum to receive a $1,000 grant from the Kaiser Foundation for our organization in thanks for Community Service projects such as the Sand Island Beach Cleanup. Great job and thanks to all of the hard working club members who make all of this happen!

Congratulations to the Mauloa 10s for a sensational season, highlighted by some dominating matches at the 2008 AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships. The young team was impressive with their defensive coverage, attacking offense and tough serves.
