Makeup
We ask that dancers wear makeup for pictures and the recital for two main reasons:
- For the dancers to learn what it means to experience the full theatrical art of dance performance.
- For facial features to show under harsh stage lighting.
We specifically ask for the following makeup colors that work best under stage lighting (at parent's discretion):
- for lighter skin tones: chocolate brown eye shadow
- for darker skin tones: gold brown eye shadow
- black mascara and eyeliner if dancer is older/ parent is comfortable applying
- pink/ rose blush
- pink lipstick, slightly darker than natural lip color
Hair
Hair must be in a bun, including bangs. Using gel or cream appropriate for your child's hair type will assist in pulling hair back smoothly. Use bobby pins and hairspray as necessary.
*Hairstyle may be changed depending on class and instructor's decision.
Tights
All dancers will need CAPEZIO ULTRA SOFT footed tights in the color CARAMEL. These can be found at Artistic Costumes and Dance Fashions in Loch Raven Plaza. $2 OFF coupons will be given out during class.
