Spring 09 Season:
Mar 28, 2009 The Stingrays opened their Spring Season with a 3-1 win against Syosset Fire. Goals by Tommy, Matt E. and Denis. The boys had numerous opportunities and missed plenty of chances. Overall, they continue to play well together with lots of team work.
Apr 4, 2009 The Stingrays continued their Spring winning streak by defeating the Oyster Bay Power 4-1. Goals by Tommy, Ronan & Dylan. Strong performances from Danny F., Ronan & Joseph C..
Apr 25, 2009 The Stingrays had an off game and missed plenty of opportunities to put away the Long Beach Cougars. Instead, a Penalty kick and a few mistakes lead to a 4-3 defeat. Goals by Tommy & Matt E. Dylan B. filled in as Keeper and did a fantastic job.
May 2, 2009 With several strong players missing, we came out flat and lacked confidence as the Freeport Red Storm took advantage of our make-shift mid-field. Scoring 2 quick goals & then being awarded 2 Penalty kicks, the Stingrays found themselves in unfamiliar territory this season being down 4-0. By half time another player had to leave and we where down to 1 injured sub. We played somewhat better in the 2nd half, but suffered an embarrassing loss.
May 9, 2009 The Stingrays were back on their game moving the ball nicely, but a tough Massapequa Chaos team refused to let up. We hit the post & cross bar around 8 times and with less than 10 minutes to go, we were able to finally hit the back of the net to take a 2-0 Win. Goals by Tommy & Jake (assisted by Denis). Superb keeping by Kevin who made several key saves to maintain the shutout. Tucker had a strong outing in mid-field and Joseph C. in defense. Danny continues to improve and his speed helped break up a number of plays.
May 16, 2009 Another tough one for the Stingrays as they came away with a 1-1 tie against Garden City. We had our chances, but failed to get the go-ahead goal. Early in the first half, the Garden City keeper saved a penalty kick which seemed to fuel our opponent.
May 30, 2009 The Stingrays were back in form moving the ball nicely vs our rematch vs the Hicksville Bombers. The Bombers came out strong, scoring in the 1st 5 minutes and looked to seek revenge for knocking them out of the Waldbaum's Cup. The Stingrays rallied from behind to take the lead 4-1. Goals by Tommy & Zack. Assists made by Denis, Jared & Matt E. Superb goal tending by Kevin and once again, our defense looked solid.
June 6, 2009 Productive practices are starting to transform onto the field. After a slow start, the Stingrays jumped out in front to a 2-0 lead over the Wantagh-Seaford Dominators. Possession and ball control contributed to some nice combination plays. Scoring by Ronan, Dylan, Jake & Tommy. Strong performances by Matt O., Ian, Joseph, Robert, Dani contributed to our 6-0 dominating win.
June 13, 2009 Tied for 2nd place, the Stingrays need to maintain their momentum this weekend.
Spring 09 Waldbaum's Cup: Mar 21, 2009 The Stingrays came prepared to challenge a tough Stonybrook Team. After falling behind 1-0, they came right back to score 2 goals and walk away with a 2-1 win. Strong efforts across the board. Stand out performances from Tommy (2 goals), Denis (1 assist), Joe S., Matt O., Dani & Ian (who stopped a breakaway in the final minutes of the game).
Spring 2009: The Stingrays would like to welcome Denis O. to our team. Denis played for the Oceanside Vipers last Fall and Merrick last Spring. Denis brings a strong left foot and an aggressive style of play to our defense and midfield. He's already assisted on a goal in the Waldbaum's cup and scored on a corner kick in our Season opener. Welcome aboard Denis!
Fall 2008: The BU12 Oceanside Stingrays will be playing in Division 6W. This division will have many challenges as it is comprised of teams from D3-D6.
The Stingrays managed to remain mostly in tact. Our 3 top scorers Matt E., Dylan B. and Brennan S. are returning this season and hoping to beat their record of 5 goals each. On the Defensive side, I believe that we will remain strong being that we still have Kevin & Robert in Goal and Ian, Joseph, Danny, Tommy, Jared, Ronan working hard in defense & midfield. This year Matt O. has insisted that he will be hitting the back of the net instead of the the post and cross bar!
Zack, Danny, and Joseph C. join us from the Oceanside Warriors and during the tryouts looked ready for the challenges ahead. I'd also like to welcome Jake who played with East Meadow last year. Jake is looking to add to our offensive punch and I look forward to working with him and our new teammates this season.

Spring 2008: Please welcome Danny Kopelkoff to our team. Danny played for Auburndale last season and is happy to have found a new home. Danny has great speed, a strong foot and will be a solid addition to our team.
The Stingrays kicked off their Spring 08 season on Mar 29th to a slow start (0-2-1) then mounted a 4 game winning streak, scoring 25 goals while giving up only 8. Lost again to a tough Uniondale team, but defeated Merrick 4-2 to end their season. As expected, their were some minor changes and we will continue to build on the late Spring season success for the upcoming Fall 2008 Season.
Fall 2007: This was a challenging Season. The Stingrays came in 7th place in the N4 (Nassau 4th Division). Competition was very close, unfortunately we were on the losing side for many close games. For the Spring season, we will drop to Division N5 which will provide us the opportunity to continue rebuild.
