An 11-run eighth inning led Marshfield to a 14-3 victory on Sunday. The Chaps big bats were led by Luke Wirtz, Nathan Krommenakker, Garrett Huber, Jake Earll, Isaiah Bairel, and Hunter Korger, who all had RBIs.
It was an impressive pitching dual until the eighth inning. Luke Wirtz started the fireworks with a solo home run. A few batters later Garrett Huber crushed a three run home run to make it 9-3. Marshfield sent fifteen batters to the plate and wound up scoring 11 runs in the eighth inning to make it 14-2. Westboro would score 1 more in the bottom of the eighth.
Caleb Krommenakker pitched 7 innings and allowed 5 hits and 2 runs; struck out 11, and earned the win.
Trace Brayton got the loss with 3 runs on 3 hits over 5 innings, also striking out 11.
Wirtz, Baierl, Korger, and Will Lee each collected multiple hits for the Chaps.
