Waupaca Lakemen Run Away With Early Lead In Victory

The Marshfield Chaparrals watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-2 non-league loss to the Waupaca Lakemen on Wednesday night. 

The Chaps struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Waupaca.

The Lakemen put the game to bed for good in the eighth inning thanks to 3 RBIs from Zack Schafer and Davis Lavine.

Jack Eagan led the Lakemen to victory on the bump. He went 4 innings, allowed 0 runs on 1 hit, striking out 9 and walking 0.

Hunter Korger took the loss for Marshfield surrendering 4 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, striking out 2.

The Chaps 2 runs came in the bottom of the ninth. Caleb Krommenakker hit a triple to deep right field driving in Preston Wagner. Jake Earll brings Krommenakker home the next at bat with a double.

Waupaca tallied 12 hits in the game. Pankratz, Schafer, Ryan McKuski, and Brenden Canterbury each racked up multiple hits for the Lakemen. Pankratz with 3 hits and 2 RBIs in 4 at bats.
