Coach Information - Calendar of Events

Over the course of each soccer year, which runs essentially from summer to summer, there are a number of events that you need to be aware of. Although this list is not comprehensive, it will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect, and of what you need to be doing or planning as the year progresses.

Below is a general outline of the activities over the course of the soccer year. For details on the upcoming season, please review this page for the fall season, and this one for the spring.

  • June - teams are formed for the upcoming year
    • Have your team meeting before the end of the school year. Great time to collect the forms and take a digital picture of each child!
    • Start your list of LDT contacts, and send a personal note to them as they form their teams
    • Start the flighting process
  • July - get ready for rostering and the season
    • Get all those forms back if you don't have them already
    • Sign up for your F license as needed
    • Continue with flighting process
    • Keep working your LDT list
    • Pick up packet from the External VP
    • Submit a request for equipment via online form
    • Also - open soccer on Monday evening, 6:30 until 8 at the park
  • August
    • Final flight requests
    • Gotsoccer rosters are unfrozen around the end of the first week. Log in with your team account, and print out the rosters and passes. Get that completed packet in to the External VP as soon as you can!
  • September - the season starts
    • LDT - this is our only fundraiser of the year. As a field marshall, you'll be the face of the club to most teams.
    • Optional second tournament
    • MNJYSA season begins and runs through mid-November
    • Attend SAGE - mandatory for each team each year. Check the MNJYSA home page for updates regularly
  • October & November - season play continues
  • December - relax!
  • January & February - flighting for the spring season, and perhaps some indoor training, leagues, or tournaments
  • March
    • Ice Breaker tournament
    • Season begins, often with unplayable fields
  • April & May - season play continues. Stay on top of makeup games to ensure they get played
  • Early June - flight winner playoffs
