Welcome the Wallace Warriors....Hammerheads Head Out
This offseason, we have seen the Heat change name, another name change, and a new team enter the league. Well, we are now back to four teams. The Filippone Hammerheads [Heat] have dropped out of the league. Jack Mulroony, 2008 MVP and Cy Young will head to the newest team, the Wallace Warriors. Nick Swangler will also join him.
The Browertown Boulders have changed their name. They are now the Wallace Warriors. They have a new name and a new logo. Their team currently consists of Jack Mulroony, Brian Sedeyn, Nick Swangler, Ian Hanely, and Casey Hanely.
The main reason for the Hammerhead's departure was not having a stadium. They held Brook Water Stadium last year with the Rapids, but the Rapids left and the Hammerheads were to head to the Cannon's field. The Cannons did not want to share a park, and left Filippone alone. The franchise was also seen as the "most stale team in the league".
Hopefully, we will see all four teams play their best in 2009. This is just the beginning of a extremely busy offseason. We will keep you updated.
