OV wins the League title!

August 4, 2019

In the League Championship Series, Ohio Valley was able to prevail 2 games to none over West End Elliott to win the league championship.

In game 1,  the Valley would strike early with a RBI double by Mark Mazur to take a 1-0 lead.  However, in the 2nd inning after 2 walks, West End would get a herschel hop as a ball took a funny bounce, clearing the SS who was in position.  All together, they'd end up scoring 4 runs in the inning to take a 4-1 lead.

In the top of the 6th,  the Valley would put together a huge inning, knocking out the West End starter in the process.  All told, they ended up scoring 5 runs which included an RBI single by MrKonja, a 2-RBI single by Sinisi, HBP RBI by Schuessler and lastly a hustle RBI single by Dan Mazur.

Schierman would work 3 plus innings in relief for Reilly, and MrKonja came in to get the final 2 outs to secure a 6-4 victory.

In game 2,  the Valley would strike early again getting 2 runs off the West End starter who would leave after only 2/3 of an inning due to injury.  West End would get the game close to 2-1 in the 3rd but the Valley had an answer each time as we would pound out 13 hits in the game.  Michael, Groff, Sinisi, and Brown would all have multiple game hits in the Series Finale as Jason Kim went all 7 to bring home the trophy.

About Us

Welcome to the Ohio Valley Federation Baseball website.  Established in 2009, we are an adult baseball team run out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania comprised of current and former college players throughout the area.

From 2009 to 2016, OV played in the Greater Pittsburgh Federation League which was associated with the NABF nationally.  In 2015 & 2016, Ohio Valley participated in the NABF Pittsburgh Regional finishing 3rd place overall in 2016.

In 2017, the GPFL folded due to lack of franchises so we jumped over to the Pittsburgh NABA.  We are now going into our 4th year as a NABA member.  In 2019, we were the Regular Season Champions as well as the playoff champion in the Pittsburgh NABA highest level - AAA.

In addition to league play, the last 2 years we have taken teams to Atlantic City, NJ to compete in their Labor Day Tournament.  In 2020, we hope to compete in additional tournaments in the fall as well as AC.
