2007 Babe Ruth Softball Teams

Congratulations to Tony Ordway's 14U girls team who took the 2007 Babe Ruth Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship with a 9-3 win over Chautauqua on Monday, July 30 in Ashley PA. Methacton rallied in the 5th inning to overcome the 1-0 lead that Chautauqua had held for most of the game. The girls went ahead 4-1 and never looked back! Congratulations to Tony, coaches Larry Stauffer, Ted & Jackie Leszcynski, players and parents! Summary: Nichole T pitched Saturday's first game's 4-1 win over Tom's River behind solid defense and timely team hitting. Corinne S threw the 9-3 win over West Millford NJ as the Methacton bats came alive late in the game. On Sunday, Danielle T and Nicki T took down the Chautauqua team from Western New York 8-4 to get Methacton into the Mid-Atlantic Regional finals. Congratulations to Emily S who took Friday's opening ceremony Home Run Derby with 19 points, the runner-up only had 8! This is the second Region title for Tony and 6 of the girls who were on the 10U team that won it in 2003.
