SDLL Winter Ball 2008
Winter Ball Flyer - Click Here - PDF Format
Hi to all,
Well, I have to change what I e-mailed yesterday.
Glendora is not going to be able to accommodate us, so I have spoken to some of the proposed Managers and they would like to go ahead with SDLL Winter Ball with what numbers we have. We will keep the online registration open. Please encourage anyone else that you might know to sign up now if they are interested. I am so sorry for the confusion.
If you have a six (6) year old signed up please make a decision if you believe your six year old will not be afraid to face pitching. We will have only 2 divisions Farm/Minor (7. 8, 9) and a Minor/Major (10, 11, 12). We will not except any 6 year old unless they have already had one (1) year of Little League.
I hope to find that no one has changed their mind, but please let me know if you have. Sorry again for the roller coaster.

What a great baseball game between Diamond Bar and San Dimas! Probably the best game this season. After 9 innings, the game was called because of darkness. The score is tied 1 to 1.
San Dimas got outstanding pitching performances from both "Junior" Everardo Navarro and Shawn Kennedy. Kevin Flanders hit in our only run and also threw out a player at the plate to keep the game tied.
Sunday update:
San Dimas wins in the bottom of 10th inning with a walk-off home run by Shawn Kennedy!!!!!! Wow, what a baseball game.
Monday's update:
San Dimas wins 12 to 1 in six innings. Andrew Espinoza pitched a great game, holding D18 Los Angeles LL to one unearned run and not walking any batters. The offense was lead by "Junior" Everardo Navarro with 4 hits in 4 at bats. Chris Smith hit a 3 run home run to deep center field.
Wednesday's update:

AED(Automatic External Defibrillator) /CPR program now at SDLL
As of June 7th, 2008 SDLL took a huge step in providing an AED(Automatic External Defibrillator) /CPR program to SDLL. We feel we will be setting a precedence to Little Leagues across America. Hopefully, other Little Leagues will follow suit and implement the same type of program to their city's. As a league we all need to take responsibility to protect our children, parents, grandparents, and fans. We feel it is not "IF" it is "When" it happens. We are now prepared if the worst of the worst situation should occur at one of our ball fields.
The survival rate for sudden cardiac arrest is less then 5% without early intervention. The likelihood of successful resuscitation decreases by about 10% with every minute that goes by. By using an AED in the first crucial minutes of a cardiac arrest, we can increase the chances of survival by over 50%. We have now increased the odds ten folds by having an AED program at our baseball fields.
We recently trained 6 of our Managers and Coach's in CPR and the use of the AED. This was the first big step in implementing the program to SDLL and it is now onboard as of June 7th, 2008. Our goal will be to have every Manager, Coach & Board Member trained by Opening Day 2009.
I would like to thank Vince Creighton, & Mike Geneslaw for donating the AED's to San Dimas Little League and Phil Hershey for the CPR/AED training. Also, a shout out needs to go to the 6 coach's that stepped up to the plate to get CPR/AED certified, Jody Moore, Billy White, Bob Napoli, Randy Rodgers, Scott Amend, and Drew Willams.
San Dimas Little League is a great organization comprised of volunteers helping to provide a great experience for our children, so get involved and together we can accomplish other great things for the future of San Dimas Little League.
Thanks, Rob Hanes
Here are the individuals that helped out.
1. Vince Creighton- Donated one of the AED's to SDLL. His business is (Vess Surgical Services)
2. Mike Geneslaw- Donated the other AED to SDLL. ( a friend of Vince's)
3. Phil Hershey provided CPR/AED training to our 6 coach's. His business is ("CPR Keep the Beat")

What is an automated external defibrillator?
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable automatic device used to restore normal heart rhythm to patients in cardiac arrest. An AED is applied outside the body. It automatically analyzes the patient's heart rhythm and advises the rescuer whether or not
When is it used?
An AED is used to treat cardiac arrest. It is a life-saving device because cardiac arrest is a sudden condition that is fatal if not treated within a few minutes. Heart attacks and other conditions can cause ventricular fibrillation. In ventricular fibrillation, the electrical signals in the lower part of the heart are uncoordinated and ineffective. Very little blood is pumped from the heart to the body or the lungs. If ventricular fibrillation is not treated, it will result in Cardiac Arrest.
You can find AEDs in public places, such as airports and office buildings (public access AEDs).
How does it work?
An AED consists of a small computer (microprocessor), electrodes, and electrical circuitry. The electrodes collect information about the heart's rhythm. The microprocessor interprets the rhythm. If the heart is in ventricular fibrillation, the microprocessor recommends a defibrillating shock. The shock is delivered by adhesive electrode pads, through the victim's chest wall, and into the heart. There are special low-power electrode pads for use on children
What will it accomplish?
The AED delivers an electric shock that stuns the heart momentarily; stopping all activity. This gives the heart a chance to restart normal electrical activity and resume beating effectively.
