Bakersfield Brigade to Play Seals on Memorial Day

May 24, 2007
Next up for the Seals at USF Negoesco Stadium are the Bakersfield Brigade on Memorial Day, Monday May 28th.  Kickoff is 1:00 pm.

The Brigade are currently tied for fourth place in the Division, with 9 points from four games, and received word on Monday that they had qualified for the U.S. Open Cup.  The Seals were officially eliminated from the Cup competition with their loss to the Lancaster Rattlers on Sunday, May 20th.

"I'm really dissapointed in that loss," said Coach Tom Simpson, "but then last year we started strong, and finished struggling.  We've done things a bit different this year, and perhaps that contributed to a slower start and maybe a stronger finish.  Now our goal is to win the league, and go into the playoff rounds."

The Brigade have done well this year, winning their first two matches, and are coming off a decisive win against the Rattlers.

"It will be a good game, that's for sure," stated Simpson.  "I don't expect anything other than a tough match with the Brigade."

Veteran's and current members of the Armed Forces will recieve a $4.00 discount off the regular Adult ticket price of $9.00 on Memorial Day.  Please bring an ID.
