Cardinal puts perfect season on the line

Stanford puts its No. 1 ranking and perfect season on the line Friday night when it hosts Boston College at 7 p.m. (Webcast)

Led by Kelley O'Hara (23 goals 13 assists) and Christen Press (19 goals and 13 assists), the Cardinal has the No. 2 offense in the country (3.25 goals a game), but it will face one of the nation's best young goalies in BC sophomore Jillian Mastroianni.

All 2,200 tickets were sold within five hours of going on sale Monday morning, making the game the sixth sellout of the season for the Cardinal.

After a pair of NCAA tournament wins, the Cardinal will now travel to face No. 1 Akron on Sunday, Nov. 29, at 1:00 pm, PST. Stanford will enter as the underdog against the undefeated Zips, but should not be intimidated after a pair of impressive wins already in the 2009 NCAA tourney.
