Victor Cortez was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in the third round of the MLS Supplemental Draft this week.

Cortez played 12 matches with the San Francisco Seals over the course of the 2007/08 seasons, and was an impact player in the defense before suffering a season ending injury.  He went on to finish his soccer college ball with the University of San Francisco as a starter over his four years with the Don's.  Cortez served as team captain, and was a key contributor to the Don's 2008 West Coast Conference Championship.

In 2007, Cortez was a West Coast Conference Honorable Mention, and in 2007 he made the WCC All-Freshman Team.  His National Team experience includes matches in Ireland (2005), and Argentina (2007) .

Our best wishes go out to Victor and his family!
