Seals Games this Weekend are Significant

May 26, 2006
Every game you play is the most important game to focus on winning. This weekends games are shaping up to be very pivital for the Seals.

The Seals currently sit on top of the Western Conference table sharing that spot with the Seahorses. Two wins this weekend will maintain that spot, and they will separate themselves from the Seahorses with a win against them at home on Monday, the 29th (game time is 2:00pm at USF's Negoesco Stadium).

But wait! There's more!

Saturday's game in Bakersfield against the Brigade is the final Open Cup qualifying match for both teams. The Brigade hold the third spot right now, while the Seals hold the fourth position.  The Seals leapfrog the Brigade with a win.

The Seahorses currently hold the second position, and the LA Storm are first, so the Seals Open Cup participation will, in part, be depending upon the outcome of those teams final qualifying games this weekend.  Four other teams have only played two qualifying matches, so it is possible that one of those teams could leap into the Open Cup this weekend as well.

"Our focus right now is on winning the division." says Tom Simpson, GM and Head Coach of the Seals.  "It might have been different had we won our game against the Gouchos, but we didn't.  We still control our future with regard to league play, and if we focus on that, then good things might happen as well with the Open Cup.  We'll see."
