Seals Score 9 Goals in 8-1 Win Over California Gold

July 17, 2006
Yep!  You read that right.  Saturday night in Modesto the Seals had a break-out game against the last place California Gold.  The Seals offense, and defense, found the net throughout the night.

They even found their own goal . . .

At this point we do not have the information regarding who scored all the goals, but there were seven different Seals goalscorers on the night.  Luke Sassano led the charge with two goals including an incredible individual effort in the first half which saw him dribble through the entire Gold defense, including the goalkeeper, before calmly slotting the ball home.

The lone goal for the Gold came on a mis-communication between Seals defenders as two of them went to clear a ball from in front of the net.  The ball bounced off one of the defenders on the clear and rolled on in.

The Seals (7-5-3) final game of the season will be played this Saturday (July 22nd) at Negoesco Stadium at 2:00pm against the Los Angeles Storm (6-6-3).  A win for the Seals will lock in fourth place in the Southwest Division.
