Seals College Players Continue to Have Impact

October 12, 2006

As the University of San Francisco Dons climb in the national rankings to 13th in the nation (from 24th) on the NSCAA, Seals PDL players Geremy Uhl, and Chris Rodd continue to have positive impact, and earn honors.

This week Uhl was named to College Soccer News “Team of the Week” after making 6 saves in a shutout against LMU, and allowing only one goal in the Don’s two wins over San Diego and LMU.  Uhl recorded his 13th career WCC shutout in the match against LMU, which ties goalkeeper Casey Keller for the most career shutouts in WCC play.  Not bad company to be in Geremy!

Chris Rodd scored the game winner in their 1-0 win against LMU last Friday afternoon.

Over on the other side of the Bay, Matt Fitzgerald scored his second goal of the season for Saint Mary’s College in Moraga as SMC opened the campaign in October with a 1-1 draw against LMU.

Carlos Diaz leads Saint Mary’s individual stats (thorough October 8th) with a combined 9 points for 3 goals and 3 assists.

Luke Sassano recorded his second assist of the season on October 6th, as Cal Berkeley romped to a 5-0 win over Oregon State in Corvallis.
