Baysox lose 4-3 on Opening Day
The SF Baysox welcomed some fresh faces to the club on Saturday, but unfortunately lost to the Mad Dogs 4-3. The Dogs jumped out with 3 runs in the first off of Sox starter Scott Botterman thanks in part to an infield single, a walk, and a texas leaguer to right. They would add an unearned run in the 2nd to make it 4-0. The Sox new slugger Greg Hinton wasted no time, however, in making his presence felt. He blasted a 330 foot double to left, and followed it up with a triple even DEEPER to left later in the game.
Sean Voegel knocked in the first run of the season for the Sox with an RBI Sac Fly to left, and then later blasted a triple of his own into the left center field gap. The Baysox chipped away with a pair of runs to make it 4-3.
Kevin Mapel relieved Botterman in the 6th, and held the Dogs scoreless. In the ninth, Hinton looked to be the hero again, but the Dogs played him literally at 330 feet deep, and his late monster shot was caught.

Baysox welcome some new faces.
March 17, 2008
The Sox have had some injuries that have claimed a few of our players for this season, and good old life issues have forced a couple others to drop for the season.
Not to worry, though, as the club has picked up some talented newcomers to take their places...
And, in the great words of Harry Doyle, "When we get the names, to go with those faces, we'll let you know."
This just in...the names to go with those faces are:
Stephen Flynn, Ricky Higgins, Gregory Hinton, W. Penn Little, and Thomas Salvatierra.
Welcome guys!
