Pre-season Power Rankings

Assalamu-ailaikum,

Here are the final PRE-SEASON Power Rankings:

Rank #1: Shujaat [2-1]

Although some may be shocked with Team Shujaat in first place on the power rankings, the Commissioner himself was able to witness their superiority on the court against the fan-favourite Team Sadaqat. Captain Shakeel “Mamba” Nazir and his strong well-balanced squad have a tough journey ahead in order to maintain this position as they are currently tied for first in wins/loss with three other teams in the preseason.

Rank #2: Sadaqat [2-1]

Team Sadaqat made a case for first in the power rankings for two weeks straight but fell short with their gruesome loss to Team Shujaat. The absence of  “LuckyMan” Dawood and his ability to turn the tides of the game may have played a role but the defeat made it clear that the race to the championship will not be easy for any team.  Despite their silver medal standing in the Eastern Canada Regional Tournament, their dominance in the Ottawa Conference has not yet been proven.

Rank #3: Rafaqat [2-1]

A strong start does not equate to a strong finish as we have seen with Team Rafaqat. Vacations and injuries have plagued Team Rafaqat, leaving the team as slightly deranged and the unable to build full team chemistry. Captain Fawad Khan is expected to be ready for the start of the season; along with “Sharpshooter” Malik, Rafaqat will regain their desired offensive power.

Rank #4: Amanat [0-3]

If there is one team in the league that can surprise anyone it is Team Amanat. They are currently at the bottom of the Ottawa conference in the preseason but have a chance to redeem their pride with a fresh start with a brand new season. Team Amanat has not won a single game and are at league lows in offense and defense. The potential is present on paper similar to the Lakers, but they will need guidance and hard work in order to make it translate on to the court.

Wassalam,

Fawad
