Important Dates for Carolina Bears Fall Football Season

2015 Changes in the Big South League:

Rule changes for the 2015 season:

• Age Cutoff Date for each age division is August 1st
• Varsity Age group (11-12) will have a ball carry weight limit of 160 lbs
• All Head coaches are required to complete USA Football Certifications
• All Head coaches are required to be CPR certified
• All Head coaches are required to participate in concussion awareness training.

Important League Dates:

• August 9th League Coaches Meeting @ Maiden High School start time 2:00pm
• August 15th League Certification Day in Conover, NC (Schedule TBA)
• First Game of Fall Football Season Saturday September 5^th 2014

 Big South Youth Football League

  GRADE/AGE Base Divisions / UNLIMITED Weight
1.Tiny Mites: 5-6 (Ball Carry Weight 65lbs.)
2.Mitey Mite: 7-8 (Ball Carry Weight 90lbs.)
3.Junior Varsity: 9-10 (Ball Carry Weight 120lbs.)
4.Varsity: 11-12 (Ball Carry Weight 160lbs)

AGE CUTOFF August 1, 2015

*Players who exceed the max ball carrier weight limit will be allowed to participate in the age division as designated above, but will not be allowed to carry the football (i.e. quarterback, receiver, or running back). If an overweight player would like to carry the ball, he must move up to the next age division.
