Strong Offense Not Enough to Secure Win for Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity Over Allen

Both Allen and Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity had their offenses going on Friday, but Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity eventually succumbed 14-8 in the high-scoring affair.

The Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Allen, giving up 14 runs.

In the second inning, Allen got their offense started when #6 grounded out, scoring one run.

Allen pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #4's sac fly scored one run for Allen, #7 doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and #2 doubled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run.

Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity scored three runs in the seventh inning. Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity scored its runs on an RBI home run by Haven Grider.

Taylor Groover was on the mound for Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity. She allowed one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Priscilla Worthington and Grider entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.

Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity tallied nine hits. Grider, Madeline Brooks, and Sierra Nixon all managed multiple hits for Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity. Nixon, Brooks, and Grider each managed two hits to lead Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity.

 

Allen saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. #7, #8, and #6 each collected multiple hits for Allen. #7 went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Allen in hits. Allen tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. #5 led the way with two.
