The boys Scrub League is the Green Hornets largest basketball program, with 320 boys participating the last several years. This is a recreational league for high school boys between 14 and 18 years old. Games are officiated by paid referees.

There are 10 players per team.  Players are drafted by coaches after an evaluation. During games, each player must play at least 2 quarters. Games begin the first weekend in December and run through January, followed by a double-elimination tournament during February.

There is generally one practice to begin the year, and then teams play an average of two games per week. There are no additional practices once games begin.
