Baseball was not a sport at Henryville High school until the 1960
season. Before that time the teams in Henryville were town teams that
included both students from Henryville High, and young men that had
graduated. The records and pictures of those teams before 1960 are not
easily obtained, and the only picture I have before 1960 is of a
team from 1925.
The pictures of the school teams from 1960 and beyond that I have
are also incomplete. The pictures were obtained via yearbooks in the
Henryville High School library. Some of those years are missing, but
there are many years covered. The records are built upon a compilation
done by former baseball coach Terry Rademacher and continued by current
baseball coach Jeff Schroeder.
The first baseball field was located directly behind the high school,
which is today the band room. The next baseball field was located at
the top of the hill where the current track is located. The baseball
field today is located where the cinder track was located. There have
been many upgrades of that field from infield grass, to brick dust, to
dugouts, to a scoreboard now located in left center field.
If you have any information or memorabilia such as old programs,
sectional programs, pocket schedules, or uniforms, I would like to
include them in my ever-growing Henryville baseball museum located in
my classroom at HHS
