George B Kelley Federation Baseball

GBK Federation Baseball is creating a transition league that takes 13U players from the "kid" leagues to "young adult" status. This league permits a player to play on a baseball diamond tailored to his size and capability rather than being moved to one with twice the playing area in a single year.

With bases set 80 feet apart and pitchers throwing from 54 feet, this league is designed for the player in those very formative early-teen transitional years.  We have found that many skillful players in the younger leagues find themselves unable to compete at the full-size diamond, but at the same time, they have outgrown the dimensions of the smaller diamonds used in 12U leagues.  This league will allow these transitioning players to play the game of baseball as it was intended to be played without the added stress to their bodies that comes with playing at a full sized field.

As this league is well beyond the beginner’s stage, the players will work to master all but the finest points of technique and strategy and play the game with a skill comparable to that of older players on a field that is suited for their growth.
