Well, another great season has come to an end! Congratulations to Team Own Your Stride who
came oh so close to the ever elusive Triple Crown and took home the Regular Season and
Playoff Championships!
Teams OYS, Active Green & Ross (2nd Place) and Chouinard (3rd place) all donated their
tournament winnings to league member Corry Cachia to help her on her road to recovery. Team
Bak Massage (4th place) donated their winnings to Just The Little Lights Relief Organization.
We also want to thank everyone for their generosity in donating funds directly to Corry over the
last few weeks, as well as to Karen for running a fundraising raffle to help support Corry.
We were lucky to have fantastic weather all weekend, perhaps Mother Nature was making up
for the last few years, and all in all it was a great weekend to cap off our season.
But when one season ends, we begin looking ahead to the next season. And with that being
said, Registration for the 2024 season is now open! Updated registration forms are attached,
please read through the form as some details have changed. Forms must be sent in via email (to
registrar@mwsl.ca) or mailed. Payment can be made via post-dated cheque or e-transfer (to
treasurer@mwsl.ca).
E-transfers will not be accepted until February 1, 2024 and the password must be MWSL2024. If
you submit your registration form prior to November 30, 2023 you can take advantage of the
early bird fee of $175, regardless if you are paying by cheque or e-transfer, but it is your
responsibility to ensure an e-transfer is sent between February 1 and March 15, 2024 to secure
your spot. If you register after December 1, 2023 the regular fee is $195.
Make sure you share this form and info with any friends or family that you know who may be
interested in joining the league, new players are always welcome!
As previously mentioned, the Annual General Meeting is coming up next and we hope to see
many of you there on Wednesday October 18th. The meeting will begin at 7:00pm sharp and is
being held at Cornerstone Community Church, which is located at Ninth Line & Donald Cousens
Parkway (https://maps.app.goo.gl/JMjc5AaniX96FBSm6).
Please submit any issues you wish to be discussed at the meeting to the Executives by Sunday
October 1st. This can include new rules or edits to the current Rules/Constitution. The minutes
from last year’s meetng are available for review on the website.
