2017 FALL SEASON REGISTRATION INFORMATION

NORTH CARROLL STORM FIELD HOCKEY

 

North Carroll Recreation Council STORM Field Hockey is a member of the Maryland Youth Field Hockey League (please see http://www.eteamz.com/myfhl/). Girls entering grades K-8 (and 9th graders that do not play for any high school) are eligible for participation in the fall 2017 season. FALL 2017 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! Fall 2017 registration will openby May 15, 2017 and will close on July 15, 2017 so that uniforms may be ordered and received by the first games. Any registrations received after July 15, 2017 will be charged a $50.00 late registration fee and participants cannot be guaranteed a uniform prior to the first game. No registrations will be accepted after July 31, 2017. Refunds for the 2017 fall season cannot be given for any reason after July 15, 2017. New and experienced players welcome!!

 

FALL PRACTICE & HOME FIELDS LOCATION: It is anticipated that all regular season practices will be held at either North Carroll High School (large field hockey/baseball field) in Hampstead, MD or at Manchester Elementary School in Manchester, MD. Other possible field locations include Cape Horn Park, and MVHS. ***Field locations TBD for each age group based upon availability, needs/requirements, and group size***

2017 TENATIVE FALL SEASON AGE GROUP PRACTICE DAYS/TIMES

Entering PreK/K: Saturday mornings (Time TBD) 
Entering Grades 1 & 2: Mondays/Wednesdays (starting between 5:45p-6:00pm)
Entering Grades 3 & 4: Tuesdays/Thursdays (starting between 5:45p-6:00pm)
Entering Grades 5 & 6: Tuesdays/Thursdays (starting between 5:30pm-6:00pm)
Entering Grades 7, 8, & 9: Mondays/Wednesdays (starting between 5:30pm-6:00pm) 
 
***Days/Times/Locations subject to change pursuant to field use allottment by NCRC***

 

FALL EQUIPMENT: Each player will need to purchase/obtain a field hockey stick, a mouth guard (cannot be white or clear), cleats, shin guards, and regulation goggles.

FALL UNIFORMS: Uniforms are required for all players and are not included in the registration fee. Players may use fall 2016 storm uniforms (must provide jersey number) or may order new ones for the 2017 season. New uniform costs are as follows: Jersey: $23.00, Socks:$5.00/pair, Kilt (grades 3-9 only): $17.00

2017 Fall Season Registration Fees:

PreK/Kindergarden clinic (tshirt included): $50.00

Grades 1-2: $75.00 (uniform not included)

Grades 3-4: $105.00 (uniform not included)

Grades 5-9: $130.00 (uniform not included)

Specific Information for Girls Entering Grades 3-8: *Mandatory practices start on August 15, 2016 and continue through the end of October/beginning of November each year. *Practices for these age groups are typically two hours long, are held twice a week and consist of running, stick skills, learning positions, and team building. *Team placement will be completed the first week of September. *Please note that we cannot guarantee any player/parent requests for a specific coach or teams. * To accommodate carpooling issues, we will try to have it so that all age groups will practice on/at the same night/location/time. Grades 3-8 play regular season games on Sunday afternoons starting the Sunday after Labor Day each year. *Additional tournaments may be offered as an option at an additional cost per player/team at the coaches’ discretion. *Any Elite team player placement (if applicable) shall be at the coaches' discretion. *Some travel is required (usually less than 45 minutes) as we play teams from Carroll County, Hereford County, Howard County, and Baltimore County. 

Specific Information for Girls Entering Grades 1-2: *Practices start on August 15, 2016 and continue through the end of October. Clinic practices are typically 1.5 hours long and are held once or twice (per week and consist of running, stick skills, basic positions, team building and lots of FUN! *Please note that we cannot guarantee any player/parent requests for a specific coach or teams. * *Clinic players have the opportunity to participate in league 'play days' and scrimmages on Saturday mornings. *Some travel is required (usually less than 45 minutes) for the play days. 

 

Specific Information for Girls Entering Pre-K/Kindergarten: *Players will attend a six (6) week clinic Starting in September. Clinics will be held on Saturday mornings, are typically one hour in length and will consist of games, running, basic stick skills and team building.
