Soar Like an Eagle Scholarship Application – Class of ‘24

The Northeast High School Athletic Boosters Club is proud to sponsor its annual

“Soar Like an Eagle” scholarships. The Boosters will provide a one-time scholarship of $1,000 to at least one male and one female Northeast Senior athlete whose parent or guardian is a current and active member of the Northeast High School Athletic Boosters.

The scholarship funds will be sent to the winning student-athletes’ accredited academic institution or trade school of choice upon acceptance to the school.

The scholarship application is open to student athletes who meet the following requirements:

• The student-athlete was in good standing with the team upon completion of the season during his/her senior year at Northeast High School AND was a member of a Varsity sports team for at least (2) two full seasons during their time in high school.

• The student-athlete has achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0.

• For the $1,000 scholarships, the student-athlete’s family must be a member of the Northeast High School Athletic Boosters for the current school year AND must have volunteered for a minimum of 3 events and 6 hours with the Boosters organization during the current academy school year.

• The student-athlete must attend an accredited academic institution or trade school.

• The student-athlete must submit one letter of recommendation from a current teacher or coach at Northeast High School.

• The student athlete must submit an essay of no more than 500 words on “How being an athlete has positively impacted me as a person.” The essay must be submitted with the application.

• The student-athlete must submit a copy their high school transcript.

• All applications must be received by the NHS Athletic Boosters Club by April 1, 2024. Applications should be submitted at the main office of the high school, in the Athletic Boosters mailbox in a sealed envelope.

• A completed application must include:

o Application o Transcript

o Letter of Recommendation o Essay

• The Scholarships will be presented at the Senior Awards Banquet in May.
